Create a Foot Print of Memories by adding a foot print on a piece of Vermont slate. Simply by applying paint to a foot or hand then transferring it to the Vermont slate. Foot Prints Matter. A great Valentine's gift!  This event is free and open to the public.

Black History Month at the Corbin

Exhibit open Fridays, Feb 14, 21 & 28 - 10 am - 3 pm

The exhibit will showcase items of artistic and cultural significance to the African American community that celebrate black gifts and talents and will be open Fridays, February 14th, 21st and 28th from 10 am to 3 pm and by appointment. Additional volunteers may allow extended exhibit days and hours. To volunteer to help staff the exhibit or if you are interested in loaning exhibit material, contact committee members James Lane at rags4legs@yahoo.com , LaVerne Johnson at ldjohnson.scs@gmail.com , Elmer Barkley at elmerbarkley75@msn.com . Pastor Vernell Cottman is also a committee member. In addition, individuals can reach A & E Coordinator jmerritt@crisfieldcityhall.com to arrange display item drop off. The Corbin Studio & Gallery at 4 E Main Street will be open for item drop off on Fridays January 24 th & 31 st from 10 am to 3 pm. Exhibited material should celebrate African-American culture and may be historic artifacts or photos from Crisfield or nearby areas, or art or crafts of any time period by an African-American artist. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Maryland Arts Day, Feb 13 in Annapolis, is an arts advocacy event that connects artists, educators, administrators, volunteers and trustees with lawmakers from every legislative district in Maryland. More info at  mdarts.org

It Takes a Village Executive Director Darlene Taylor and cultural historian James Lane are the coordinators for the Community Afternoon on February 22th from 4 pm to 6 pm. This evening will include live performances of influential African American artist's work including James Weldon Johnson's poem "Creation," and will take place in the Corbin Gallery where exhibits can be viewed as well. A sampling of African American specialty dishes will follow. This event is free and open to the public.

Hangin Out Art Show
May 15 & 16 - Corbin Studio & Gallery, 4 E Main Street
Hangin' Out is a show where all types of art will be displayed, from paintings to poetry. Artists will be allowed to bring 1 piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, poetry, etc..) and set it up at no charge. Artists will have the option to sell their work with a percent of sales going to the Crisfield Arts &Entertainment District Project.

4th Saturday Bay Stroll
Saturday, May 23 4 pm – 7 pm, Crisfield City Dock
Break out the flip-flops and welcome the summer in the best possible location, on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Bring your lawn chair & relax to live music. Seafood, festival food, whole pig roast.  This event is free and open to the public.
