Register to Vote by Monday, October 19
Are you registered to vote for the November 3 General Election? Have you moved recently or recently changed your name? Check your registration status, verify your address, and register to vote if you haven't already at LAvote.net. The deadline to register to vote in California is Monday, October 19, 2020.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3
All registered voters will receive a Vote by Mail ballot beginning October 5. You can sign up to track the status of your Vote by Mail ballot at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. You'll receive automatic e-mail, text, or voice call notifications about your ballot - when it is mailed, received, and counted.

You're encouraged to return your mail-in ballot by mail (postage is free) or you can drop it off at a designated Vote Center or Vote by Mail dropbox. A Vote by Mail dropbox is located at the Signal Hill Public Library, 1800 E. Hill Street. Learn more about voting by mail and your return options at LAVote.net.
Voters will have 10 consecutive days and Election Day to vote in-person at most Vote Centers in the County. Some Vote Centers, including the Vote Center at the Signal Hill Public Library, will be open for 5 consecutive days, including Election Day. A full list of voting centers and dropboxes will soon be posted at LAvote.net. Learn more about in-person voting at LAvote.net/home/voting-elections/voting-options/early-voting.
Local Issues on the Ballot
This year, Signal Hill voters will have an opportunity to vote locally on City Council Members and Measure R - the City of Signal Hill Financial Stability Measure.

If approved by Signal Hill voters, Measure R would enact a 3/4 cent local sales tax to address local needs, including preparing for public health emergencies or natural disasters, helping local residents and businesses recover, and addressing basic repairs and maintenance needs to public facilities, storm drains, streets and sidewalks.

We encourage you to participate in this important local election. To get more information on Measure R, visit cityofsignalhill.org/measureR. For information about the municipal election, local candidates, and the changes to our voting system, visit cityofsignalhill.org/election.
