From Mrs. Pudelko:

Parents,

THANK YOU for your continued support and patience this school year. The circumstances we are navigating are not always easy, but we are so grateful that you continue to put your trust in our staff to safely educate your children! Our teachers look forward to seeing you at conferences.

A few additional notes:

  • If you could offer 10 minutes of your time to complete a survey for our strategic planning process, it would be extremely helpful for our planning team. We ask that you consider the overall picture of our parish and school community, not necessarily our most recent experiences during "COVID." The survey can be accessed here.
  • Smart AID Please be sure you read the email carefully and submit your application by December 1, 2020. All financial aid from the Diocese of Grand Rapids and St. Anthony requires a complete application.
  • HEALTH DEPARTMENT TOOLKIT: The Health Department continues to update the School Toolkit. All parents are encouraged to review these updates here (as of 10/29/20).
  • NOVEMBER 6 - Due to Parent Teacher Conferences, November 6 is a virtual day of school for students. Google Meets WILL NOT be scheduled, but students will be expected to complete assigned work on Canvas.
This year our school is involved in a program called Building Healthy Communities (BHC). It is a school-wide health initiative which provides students opportunities to make healthy choices. This program uses a school-wide approach which engages principals, classroom and P.E. teachers, after-school club advisors, other staff members, and parents to encourage our students to choose healthy foods and be physically active every day! BHC combines healthy eating education with physical activity to make our school a healthier place to learn. Our school received:
  • Healthy eating education lessons. Each lesson includes a healthy eating activity and a physical activity break. Some lessons will include a healthy food tasting to expose children to possibly new, nutritious foods. Currently, Ms. Ring is teaching one lesson per week to our K-5 students.
  • Training and resources for P.E. teachers and new equipment for the gym and playground.
  • Funding to start a Healthy Kids Club so our students can try healthy snacks and be physically active outside of school in a safe, non-competitive environment. Parents who are interesting in volunteering to support this club should contact the school office.
  • Access to the Fuel Up to Play 60 program through United Dairy Industry of Michigan.
