State Lifts Regional Stay at Home Order
Yesterday morning, California lifted the Regional Stay At Home Order across the state – a welcome move for local businesses allowed to expand some indoor and outdoor operations.

Effective immediately, outdoor dining and personal services may resume with required modifications in San Mateo County. The County is not imposing additional local restrictions and remains in alignment with the State.

With certain restrictions lifted, the county returns to Tier 1 (Purple) in the state’s four-tier, color-coded system for loosening and tightening restrictions. Tier 1 is the most restrictive as the COVID-19 virus is considered “widespread” in the community.

The state lifted the order as the Bay Area’s four-week intensive care unit (ICU) capacity projections are above 15 percent, the threshold that allows regions to exit the order.

These Credit Unions Are Accepting Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Applications:
San Mateo Credit Union is committed to assisting small businesses in our community. Their application portal is open for new Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan applicants. Visit smcu.org/ppp for dedicated PPP loan information and to apply.

An application for a PPP loan with SMCU will require an SMCU membership prior to funding a PPP loan. The following are the eligibility requirements for a business membership:

  • Your business must be located or headquartered in San Mateo County, City of Palo Alto, or select San Francisco zip codes.
  • Your annual revenue should not exceed $10,000,000.
  • Your monthly business activities should not require large cash deposits.

PLEASE NOTE: The application and all communication is an online-only process. All communication regarding PPP loans will be distributed exclusively through an electronic channel.

SRI Federal Credit Union is participating in the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program and offering access to these funds, primarily to its existing business account members who hold a current business account and meet SBA eligibility requirements.

If you do not have an SRI Federal Credit Union business account, please be aware that you will need to open one with them. You can fill out a Business Account Application HERE. Once completed please send it to their Operations Manager - Amy Garcia. She will be glad to address any questions you may have and help guide you through the process. Once the account is open, a loan officer will be assigned to you for the PPP loan process.
