During Lent, let us find concrete ways to overcome our indifference.
- Pope Francis
Here we go again?
Do you sometimes feel like you're stuck, facing the same struggles over and over, and perhaps just going through the motions? Lent is a season of repentance and forgiveness, of grace and mercy. Lent challenges us to dig deeper than simply going through the motions, and to mindfully draw to Christ. As we emerge from darkness - the darkness of Covid, of winter, and of perhaps a spiritually dry stretch - let us be transformed this Lent!

We will have many opportunities to gather for prayer at St. Mary Magdalene. Join us!
Sunday 2/27/22 - Lenten Mission at 4:30pm
Repent and Believe in the God of Second Chances
A few weeks ago, Fr. Breck said that missionary works are stepping stones to help draw closer to Christ. Our parish is on a mission!
The Gospels are rich with imagery, filled with relatable characters, and often challenge us to consider the rest of the story. Begin the season intentionally with a Lenten Warmup, where we will delve into the Cycle C Sunday Gospels with a multi-media experience that includes Scripture, story, song, and inspiration.

Presented by Sustaining the Journey, together we will immerse ourselves in the heart of Lent for an hour and a half that will offer food for thought and nourishment for the soul. Come, draw closer to Christ.

Tuesday Holy Hours at 3pm
March 8, 15, 22, 29, and April 5
Quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament offers a calming peace like no other. Take time out mid-week for recitation of the Our Lady Of Sorrows Rosary and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Hours will conclude with Benediction.
Wednesday, 3/16/22 Diocesan Evening of Confessions
Catholics Come Home 5pm - 8pm
“The joy of God is the joy of forgiveness.” – Pope Francis
On Wednesday, March 16, all 185 parishes in the Diocese of Cleveland will be open to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In this sacrament of healing, each person is given an opportunity to speak to Christ through the priest, and to receive God’s gift of loving forgiveness and mercy. Absolution enables each person to reconcile with God, and in God’s love, with themselves and with their community. Have you been away from the Church for a while? Evening of Confession also serves as a welcome back!
Nine Nights of Night Prayer at 8:15pm
March 17-25
St. Mary Magdalene will be one of the host churches for this spring's Nine Nights of Night Prayer. This is an opportunity to pray Night Prayer, the short, ancient prayer of the Catholic Church, in nine beautiful churches of our diocese. Every night from March 17 through March 25, all nine of these churches will be open for those who come to church often, those who have never been, and everyone in between - that's 81 opportunities! Come join us!
Tuesday, 4/5/22 - Eucharistic Adoration and Reconciliation
6pm to 8pm - Come for a while or the whole time!
In a September, 1987 homily, Blessed John Paul II said:
"Confession is an act of honesty and courage – an act of entrusting ourselves, beyond sin, to the mercy of a loving and forgiving God."

As we journey closer to Easter, we are mindful of our need for God's love, mercy, and forgiveness. We invite you to draw closer to the Lord, to find peace, healing, and comfort. On Tuesday, April 5, we will offer an evening of Eucharistic Adoration with beautiful music and Confessions, from 6pm to 8pm. Multiple confessors will be available.
