Pastor Wende's Weekend Message

In Luke’s gospel we will encounter a tragedy caused by a political ruler. And a tragedy caused by an accidental disaster. We are all too aware of the many tragedies that surround us in our present world—from Ukraine to the streets of Chicago to climate change. And we are often quick to place blame and responsibility, and not see ourselves as part of the problem. Jesus comes along and levels the playing field. All are in need of repentance! All are in need of God’s love!

Gracious and Loving God, Hear the cries of Your people. Support us with Your forgiveness and love. And help us to be part of the solution. Amen

Amy Stredde.jpg

This week we'll be waking up to compassion with Amy Stredde. "I live in Geneva with my adoring husband and have 4 beautiful children. My family joined Geneva Lutheran about 3 years ago. Being a RN for almost 20 years has taught me several lessons along my life’s path, but one that is essential to caring for the vulnerable and being able to care for yourself is…COMPASSION!"—Amy Stredde

WE LIFT UP IN PRAYER

We surround with our prayers the family of Jeanine Blazik who died March 4. Jeanine worked for many years in the Geneva Lutheran Church office. Click to read Jeanine's obituary.
