Business:

  • Session approved the 2021 Statistical Report.
  • Session approved the 2021-22 Terms of Service for Rev. Jeff Day.
  • Session approved allocating $675.00 from Handbells Misc. Designated Funds (860230) to Pastor’s Discretionary Funds Misc. Designated Funds (820300).
  • Session approved establishing a policy to help manage the increased requests from strangers for assistance during Sunday worship. All those requesting assistance will be asked to provide basic contact information and a description of assistance requested. A time to discuss the needs will then be scheduled with the person making the request, the Pastor, and two other members of the Congregation.

Clerk of Session - Correspondence
  • Notification of the ending of domain services was received from Fishnet.us. Highland’s domain, highlandpresbyterian.org, was successfully transferred to Squarespace.com (the administrator of Highland’s webpage).

Christian Education & Congregational Care
  • Devotional materials for Lent have been ordered. Titled “Making the Road: Walking Through Lent” the study is written by Presbyterian Outlook editor Teri Ott. The six weeks of devotionals include Walking Through Lent; Walking in the Wilderness; Walking in Prayer; Walking with Others; Walking in Hope; and Walking Through Holy Week. These devotionals will be available in print as well as through “Connections.”
  • Lagniappe Ladies gathered at Portobello’s on January 19 for monthly lunch. The next meeting will be February 16 at TJ Ribs (on Siegen).
  • The Gift of Literacy project will be continued with the support of Lagniappe Ladies.











Committee Reports (cont.):

Evangelism/Membership
  • The average attendance for January was 17. We welcomed 6 visitors in January. 

Finance
  • For the month of January income of $14,466.00 exceeded expenses of $3,591.53 by $10,874.47.

Missions
  • Bread was delivered to the Shepherd’s Market on four Mondays in January. Items from the basket in the sanctuary were delivered on January 17. The next delivery of the basket items is scheduled for February 28.

Worship
  • Current Covid Mitigation policies for worship and their impact in view of decrease in cases were discussed. Masks will no longer be requested.
