Important UPDATED Travel Guidance for Staff & Families
Effective Immediately

Cook County Department of Public Health (CCPDH) has issued updated travel guidance for anyone traveling to and from suburban Cook County from designated states with a significant degree of community-wide spread of COVID-19. Anyone traveling from a state on the "Orange" list is directed to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in suburban Cook County or quarantine for a 10-day period upon return.  Crisis Go will be updated tomorrow to reflect this change.

Click HERE to access the latest travel guidance information.  In summary, travelers who visit an orange state for more than 24 hours:

1. Adhere to a 10-day quarantine OR obtain a negative PCR COVID-19 Test (rapid tests are not allowed) no longer than 72 hours prior to your return home.

2. Children under the age of 18 are exempt if they traveled with an adult who has received a negative COVID-19 test in accordance with #1 above. Children who travel alone are to follow the testing or quarantine option.

Where do I send COVID-19 PCR Testing Results?
Please contact your school nurse with results. If you arrive home and are still waiting for the test result, you must quarantine until you receive it.

What if my trip duration is less than 72 hours?
If you are in an orange state for more than 24 hours but less than 72 hours, you must take a PCR test or complete a 10-day quarantine upon your return. The test cannot be taken prior to your first leg of travel.

What if I travel to a state/territory that is not marked "orange"?
No quarantine is necessary after travel to a state/territory that is not orange. This list is updated every other Tuesday and goes into effect the following Friday at 12:01 a.m. The next update will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Please note that this shift means that now CCDPH guidance is consistent with the City of Chicago's Travel Order to reduce confusion among people living and working in Cook County.

This information is subject to change at any time based on CCDPH guidance.
