Prayer to the Guardian Angels
Throughout this month, it's good for us to pray the Guardian Angel Prayer: "Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen."

General Announcements
Important Additional PSAT Information: This test provides important practice for freshmen and sophomores, as they prepare to take the PSAT and the SAT during junior year. For juniors, the PSAT score is considered for a variety of scholarship programs. The PSAT is a good indicator of how students will score on the SAT, and helps students study and prepare for the SAT. Students should take the test seriously and try their best. All students should come to school on time, well-rested, having had a healthy breakfast, and with two #2 non-mechanical pencils and a charged calculator. There is no make-up for the PSAT. Students may bring a snack to eat during the break between testing sessions. The cafeteria will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:35 a.m. for breakfast and for students to purchase snacks for the testing break.
Wednesday, October 14 the PSAT Day will be administered at CCHS on this for freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Seniors are not to be in school to be this day. This is an opportunity for seniors to work from home on college applications. Seniors may make an appointment with their counselor if they need assistance, the appointment may be in person or on zoom.
PSAT for Students Learning Remotely: Remote students have already received an email and those who are registered will be directed to the correct classroom. Please contact Mrs. Montague with any questions AMMontague@Charlottecatholic.com
Early Dismissal Due to PSAT: Please remember that Wednesday, October 14 is a half day of school due to PSAT testing. CCHS will dismiss students once testing has been completed, at approximately 12:45. Buses will leave at 1:00 p.m. If your student has extended time, your student will dismiss later. Please make alternate arrangements for pick-up if your student has extended time and is a bus rider .
Uniform Reminder from Mr. Belk: Charlotte Catholic relaxed the dress code this year by not requiring Land's End shorts and pants. Students have been asked to wear the appropriate length shorts. The dress code states that shorts must be to the knee. There have been announcements over the last few weeks at school as friendly reminders, and students violating the dress code may be asked to purchase appropriate length shorts. STUDENTS - if you want to continue to wear shorts of your choice, please follow the dress code which can be found by clicking here Dress Code and is always at the bottom of The Catholic Daily.
School Pictures: Underclassmen pictures continue today, Monday October 12. Students will take them during their English classes. Online students A-K will be from 2:45 to 3:30 on 10/9 and L-W will be from 2:45 to 3:30 on 10/12. All students must wear uniforms.
If you need a new picture order form, they will be handed out in English class or you may order online mylifetouch.com using Picture Day ID EVT6MTDJ3
Save the date! The PTO will be hosting our fall semester Q&A session with our principal, Mr. Telford, on Thursday, October 29 at 9:00 A.M. A Zoom link will be posted closer to the event. We hope you will plan to join us.
PTO - Help us Close the Gap:
The CCHS PTO is 100% supported by family dues of $35 each. We do not have membership tiers asking for larger contribution amounts nor do we hold any fundraisers. Our ability to fund initiatives to support our staff and students is directly impacted by our membership participation. We are about $5000 or 140 families short this year compared to last. Please help us by visiting the Online Store. Double check your account that you contributed and if not, please consider donating. If ever there was a time to celebrate our teachers and our kids, it is now. Thank you!
Virtual Club Day: Has been postponed. New date will be announced soon! It will be a Virtual Club Day during Flex Time. Ahead of time there will be videos describing the different clubs. Students will be able to choose clubs based on their interest. Ads for clubs will also be posted on the TV screens around the school and on the website. Clubs are for remote learners and in-person learners. For more information, please visit the website, Clubs.
Covid information and resources please see quick resources below
Please keep UP-TO-DATE with daily announcements (The Catholic Daily) and communications from CCHS via email. Senders will be "Charlotte Catholic High School" noreply@charlottecatholic.com or communications@charlottecatholic.com. Please mark both as safe senders.

Campus Ministry
Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary
Saint Louis de Montfort, an inspiring saint of the 17th and 18th centuries, said that the Rosary "is a priceless treasure inspired by God." Indeed, the graces God gives to souls who devoutly pray the Rosary is like a waterfall, vivifying them to fervor for Jesus Christ and His Church and to live charitably to all. The Church in her wisdom has deemed October the month of the Holy Rosary, inspired particularly by the incredible outcome of the Battle of Lepanto on October 7th, 1571, which St. Pius V attributed to Our Lady. For more on this, click here.
In light of the season were are in, let us take up and renew our heartfelt devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, particularly by praying her Rosary. By entrusting ourselves, our families, our communities, and the Church to her, we can take heart that she will help us live truly courageous, joyful, and faithful to The Lord. If it is difficult due to time to pray a whole 5 decades, try taking a few minutes to pray one decade devoutly in order to more concretely live under the intercession of the Queen of Heaven. For more on how to pray the Rosary, click here or pick up a booklet by the chapel area of the school.
Prayer Opportunities:
-
There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions available during both lunch periods for the community every Wednesday. Submitted by Mr. Bauman rwbauman@charlottecatholic.com
-
Starting today, October 12, there will be a communal Rosary prayed after school at 2:35 in the chapel Monday through Thursday for those interested.
Rosaries for CCHS: Parents, please consider signing up for a day to pray the Rosary for the spiritual needs of all of those at Charlotte Catholic High School - the students, teachers, administration and chaplain. Click here to sign up.
