The Choices We Make

Napa Valley CanDo seeks to inspire and facilitate action  by alerting interested Valley residents about opportunities for service. If you participate as a volunteer in an activity that you learned about through Napa Valley CanDo, whether initiated by CanDo or another organization, please take personal responsibility for your involvement. Use common sense. Only you can determine whether an activity is a good fit, that is to say  compatible with your interests and abilities.

More than 200 hundred donors have already contributed to CanDo's 7th  Give!Guide campaign, our year-end effort to raise awareness and funds for local nonprofits. This year, there are 46 participants. At the same time, CanDo's volunteers work diligently to foster collaboration among nonprofits and to cultivate an ever-larger community of givers.

DID YOU KNOW that  every donor - whether they give $10 or $1000 and no matter to which nonprofit(s), receives a CanDo thank you with a certificate good for gifts from five generous local businesses. Click here to see the treats you'll find waiting for you during the month of January 2020.

So speaking of waiting,
what are you waiting for?

WE  REALLY  KICKED  IT  OFF  THIS  YEAR!

Thanks to the nearly 250 of you who joined in our
Kickoff celebration with such spirit last week. Camaraderie, community - and fun! More photos coming soon.

Here, a list of businesses that graciously supported the festivities by setting the stage and providing delectable refreshments.

FALL CLEAN UP DAY IN
CanDo's GARDEN FOR THE FOOD BANK

Last weekend 18 volunteers gathered at our Food Bank garden in North Napa. For two busy hours, we removed spent summer plants, shoveled topsoil and compost, tended our fall/winter veggies, and
cleaned up leaves and debris.

Then, as we relaxed and ate fabulous sandwiches generously donated by Napa's  WHOLE FOODS MARKET,
we celebrated our 2019 harvest (2,345.3 pounds!) and made plans for next year's garden.

Abundant thanks to Whole Foods, to our awesome gardeners, and of course to Covenant Presbyterian Church for providing the land and water so we can grow fresh, organic food for Napa's Food Pantry.
