Go RED Columbia Day Party 
The public is invited to participate in the City of Columbia's Go Red for Women Day Party that will include a press conference, community photo op, health screenings and heart health information to help and support the women affected by heart disease, the number 1 killer of women. The event is free and open to the public. Come join us for a “party with a purpose”.

This year’s event will be held on National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 7, 2020. The Go Red Columbia Day Party will be hosted by Councilwoman Tameika Isaac Devine. The Go Red for Women movement encourages awareness of this issue and action to help save lives. Both men and women are encouraged to wear red the day of the event.

February At-Large Open House
Join Councilwoman Isaac Devine and Councilman Howard Duvall for our monthly At-Large Open House on Wednesday, February 12th at City Hall, 1737 Main St. From 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., you will have the opportunity to sit down and talk to your at-large council members about ideas, concerns and thoughts about our great city.

February Pet Adoption Special
WHAT: Columbia Animal Services will be having reduced adoption rates to celebrate Valentine's Day. From February 13-15, Columbia Animal Services is having $14 pet adoptions for all cats and dogs.

2020 State of the City Address
Mayor Stephen K. Benjamin delivered his 2020 State of the City Address on, Wednesday, January 29th, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St. 

His speech focused on the many accomplishments of the City of Columbia in his first 10 years as the Mayor of Columbia and what still needs to be done to enhance our City.

Application Process Open for Accommodations Tax & Hospitality Tax Grant Funding Fiscal Year 2020/2021. Workshop to be held February 10, 2020.
The City of Columbia is now accepting applications for Hospitality and Accommodations Tax Grants for the 2021 Fiscal Year (July 1, 2020– June 30, 2021.) Applications are due by 12:00 pm on the dates listed below. 
 
Accommodations Tax Grant (Due March 6, 2020 by 12:00 pm) The Accommodations Tax Grant provides financial support to non-profit organizations and their projects/events whose mission is to attract tourists by promoting overnight accommodations in the City of Columbia. To be eligible, your organization must be a nonprofit with documentation from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, with activities in the City of Columbia.  It is the intent of the Accommodations Tax Grant Committee to fund the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Visitors Bureau and Capital City Lake Murray for fiscal year 2021. 
 
Hospitality Tax Grant (Due March 13, 2020 by 12:00 pm) The Hospitality Tax Grant provides financial support to non-profit organizations and their projects/events whose mission is to attract tourists by promoting dining in the City of Columbia. To be eligible, your organization must be a nonprofit with documentation from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, with activities in the City of Columbia.
