After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1995, Sara Hayes coached collegiate softball until the summer of 2008. In that time, she had the privilege of working alongside, and learning from, some of the most enthusiastic, dynamic, and brilliant leaders of women’s college fastpitch softball – Liz Miller (Notre Dame), Eugene Lenti (DePaul), Patrick Murphy (Alabama), Sue Enquist (UCLA), Brian Kolze (Pacific), and Kathy Van Wyk (San Diego State).
During the 2008 softball season, Sara assisted San Diego State University, in putting together the most successful campaign in Aztec history thus far. Sara was honored as a member of the Mountain West Conference Softball Coaching Staff of the Year, after the Aztecs won the conference championship and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Regional softball tournament.
Sara has four years of experience as a Division I head softball coach, including a two-year stint at Indiana University from 2003-04, where in 2004 the team celebrated its first winning campaign since 1996. Sara has coached numerous USA Today/NFCA All-Americans through her career, including the First Team Thirdbaseman when she was head softball coach at the University of Northern Iowa.

Sara began her softball coaching career as an assistant coach at DePaul University from 1996-2000. During that time, she helped lead the Blue Demons to five NCAA Regional appearances and two Women's College World Series (WCWS) bids, the first two in Blue Demon history. She was part of the coaching staff that was named NFCA National Softball Coaching Staff of the Year in 1999 and NFCA Midwest Softball Coaching Staff of the Year in 1998 and 2000.

As a player, Sara was a softball standout at the University of Notre Dame as a catcher, third baseman and outfielder. She was the 1995 Midwestern Collegiate Conference Softball Player of the Year and a three-time all-Mideast region selection. She was the Irish MVP as a junior and senior when the softball team earned trips to the NCAA Regional softball tournament. Sara graduated from Notre Dame as the school's all-time leader in 10 offensive categories and the holder of eight single-season school records.

Through Power Line Consulting, Sara's influence on the game of softball extends further; beyond the field, the grandstands, and college arena. It is Sara's vision to assist in the education, mentoring, and support of high school athletes and their families; to help them achieve greatness on and off the field of play.

After earning both NFCA All-Region and CoSIDA Academic All-American honors as a D1 college athlete at Campbell University, and then playing and coaching internationally in Austria, Italy, and New Zealand, Amber returned home this fall to join Power Line Athletics!

Amber is a San Diego native, graduating from Santana High School. As a dominating pitcher and hitter, Amber was a member of three league titles, 2013 CIF Champions, and two CIF runners-up teams. In her 6'0 tall impressively athletic body, Amber also played golf, tennis, and water polo for Santana.

While beginning her collegiate career at McNeese State, it was upon her transfer to Big South Conference Campbell University that Amber's strengths on the field and in her leadership exploded. In her junior year, Amber finished with a .390 batting average, .467 on-base percentage, .750 slugging percentage, and 16 home runs. In her senior year, she finished first in the league in batting average (.431), on-base percentage (.618), slugging (.850), home runs (18), and walks (57). She was named 2017 Big Conference Player of the Year, NFCA Southeast All Region, and CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Professionally, Amber has been a player and Head Coach for the Witches Linz softball organization in the Austrian Division 1 Softball League, in Liz, Austria where she was a member of the 2017 Austrian National Champions. Sarah Ogle pitched and played 2B while maintaining a 3.6 GPA at Carleton College (Northfield,
Minnesota), ranked fifth in the country among liberal arts colleges. As one of the team captains her senior year, Sarah helped lead the Knights to their best season of all time, breaking the Carleton single-season win record. In her junior year, she earned the start in Carleton’s first ever earned playoff game against St. Catherine’s. Sarah was not only an important part of the Knights pitching staff but also a resilient and stellar teammate as she rebounded from season-ending injuries as an underclassman and was voted onto the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team by her teammates in both 2016 and 2018. She was named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete all four years and earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference Team in 2018.

Sarah was trained in San Diego by some of San Diego’s best pitching coaches: Bill Corbett and Stayce Preator. As a four-year varsity starter in high school, she played mainly 2B as an underclassman and pitched as an upperclassman. In 2014 and 2015, she was named First Team All-Coastal League and was in the top five in San Diego for strikeouts. She played travel softball for Power Surge and Renegades in which one of her favorite memories was winning the 16U Colorado Sparkler tournament.

She is excited to coach softball in San Diego and especially at Robb field, where she started playing softball at the age of five at Peninsula Youth Softball. Sarah was a 6-time All-star and was picked up by powerhouse Bonita Valley to help them finish 4th in ASA 12U Nationals. Sarah’s stellar pitching helped 12U and 14U Peninsula teams to District Championships, State berths, and ASA Nationals. This 5’3” pitcher got the most out of her potential through hard work, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence where she left it all on the field each and every day. In her very last college game she pitched a shutout and got the game-winning RBI.

Sarah graduated from Carleton College in June 2019 with a Geology degree and plans to take a year off from academics before starting a Ph.D. program in Climate Science at the University of California, San Diego. Sarah looks forward to giving back to the game and continuing to coach young athletes while in graduate school.
