TOWNSHIP UPDATES
FIREWORKS IN LAKE OF BAYS

The Township recently updated the Noise By-law to permit fireworks on July 1 and all other statutory holiday weekends from dusk until 11 p.m., if no fire ban in effect. Fireworks at any other time are illegal.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you sell fireworks, we are asking that you consider displaying a poster letting your customers know when fireworks are permitted. A printable version of the poster is available for download.

The Muskoka Small Business Centre presents The Power of Reviews Virtual Workshop.

Reviews have the power to positively influence your next customer. Julia McLaughlin of Review Robin explains ways you can get more reviews from your customers, how reviews can help boost your search engine optimization (SEO), platforms you should be collecting more reviews on as well as how to address negative reviews and use them to your advantage.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
TOURISM RELIEF FUND (TRF)

The Tourism Relief Fund supports tourism businesses and organizations to adapt their operations to meet public health requirements while investing in products and services to facilitate their future growth.

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants include tourism entities that cater mainly to visitors, such as: 
  • businesses;
  • not-for-profit organizations, such as tourism associations; and
  • band councils or other Indigenous organizations and cooperatives.

JOBS AND GROWTH FUND

The Jobs and Growth Fund provides funding to businesses and organizations to help create jobs and position local economies for long-term growth. 

Who can apply?

  • Businesses, including co-operatives.
  • Not-for-profit organizations and community economic development partners.
  • Indigenous-led organizations and/or businesses are strongly encouraged to apply. Under the initiative, FedNor may contribute up to 100% of eligible project costs for projects with Indigenous clients.
