You're Invited to Gardening Day of Service
The City of Margate calls all green thumbs to get involved and help beautify the community. A Gardening Day of Service takes place this Saturday, July 24, 9 a.m. until 12 noon, at Fire Station 18, located at 5785 Park Drive in Margate. Parking is available at City Hall. No previous gardening experience is required.
Temporary Conversion to Free Chlorine of Water
The City of Margate’s Department of Environmental & Engineering Services (DEES) will perform its annual super-chlorination of the water mains from July 27 through August 16, 2021. During this period, customers may experience a slight increase in the taste and odor of chlorine in the water, but these temporary conditions will not cause adverse health effects. 
Get Recycled Paint on July 29
Color the exterior of your home with recycled paint you can get on Thursday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Oriole Field parking lot, 7055 NW 1st Street. The only color available is beige. There are limited supplies available on a first-come, first-served basis and by reservation only. 
Recycle Hazardous Waste & Electronics
The City of Margate is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Disposal event on Saturday, August 28, 9 am.- 2 p.m. at Oriole Park, 7055 NW 1st Street. Document shredding will also be available.  Any electronic item that has a plug or takes rechargeable batteries is eligible to be recycled. Residents can also safely dispose of household hazardous waste.
Know Your Flood Risks
Margate residents need to know their flood risks, especially during Hurricane Season. Taking action now may give you the power to protect yourselves and your property. Follow these simple steps:
  • Know what to do before, during, and after a flood.
  • Evacuate when advised by authorities if you are in a flood-prone area.
