Hello facilitator friends!
Last week was Karl Rohnke's 83rd birthday so I gave him and his wife, Gloree, a call to see how they are doing. We spent an hour chatting and catching up. It sure did warm my heart. If you're new here and not familiar with who Karl is, he's one of the people who helped pave the way for experiential facilitators like myself to have a career in the team building and experiential field. He even has his own
Wikipedia page. I told him about all of the virtual team building sessions I have been leading, and about the
Facilitator Scavenger Hunt coming up this week and if he's feeling up for it that day, he's going to try and make a cameo appearance. No promises, but he is going to try and thinks it will be a hoot! I was awarded the
Karl Rohnke Creativity Award by the Association for Experiential Education back in 2017 and it was the most humbled and honored I have ever felt in my career. He is truly a gem.
