2020 Newsletter - Volume 1
So it is a new year and an exciting new golf season to look forward to! Please keep reading to find out more about what we have planned for this coming year!
WELCOME TO THE 2020 GOLF SEASON!!!!

Since the winter weather has been pretty mild so far, many of you may be enjoying some time on the links. If not, then hopefully you are looking forward to spring weather and green grass to begin the season.

The Events Committee and Director of Golf Events and Programs, Diane Peterson, are already busy working on setting up golf clinics, leagues and outings. There are many wonderful events planned, both at old favorites and new venues! New leagues are also being added, more information will be coming soon!

It is my pleasure to bring you news and updates for the chapter. My target is for you to get a newsletter every two months. I can use everyone's help in making sure we are celebrating our member's milestones and accomplishments. See a program offered in your area that might of interest to other golfers (see Meditation program offered by Monmouth County described below as an example)? Break 100 for the first time, got a hole in one? Share the joy of these milestones by sending me a short summary of the event or accomplishment and a photo if you have one: marketing @lpgaamateurscnj.com

My best wishes to all for a great season! I look forward to seeing everyone at Tee-Off on March 29th!

SAVE THE DATE
Tee off Luncheon is MARCH 29th
We will officially kick off our Chapter's 2020 season on Sunday, March 29th with the annual Tee-Off luncheon. This year we have a change of venue with the event to be held at the Knob Hill Golf Club in Englishtown. It feature a fashion show of the latest golf attire from Golf4Her with chapter members as the models. There will also be a review of the events schedule, golf leagues and competitive events planned for the year.

We are currently working on the second addition of our Chapter handbook after receiving very positive feedback on the first edition. Watch for emails to advertise in the new handbook as well as register for the Tee-Off in the near future. We are also still seeking a few vendors for the event so if you want to participate just send me an email, marketing@lpgaamateurscnj.com
HANDICAP UPDATE
Many of you may know that the World Handicap System is being introduced in the U.S. this year. Here is a quick guide to what is changing:
POST HOLIDAY LUNCHEON
Last month, 32 members attended this year's Post Holiday luncheon held at The Cranbury Inn. It was a great opportunity for members to catch up with one another as well as make some new acquaintances.

After a chance to socialize and enjoy a lovely lunch, the highlight of the event took place, the White elephant gift exchange. As their number was called, attendees picked from a fully stocked gift table or. had the option to "steal" a gift that had already been opened. Several items were in demand including some bottles of wine, a golf mitt and Christmas towels. Everyone went home with a gift that replaced what they brought.....will we see some of the items at next year's exchange?
MEDITATION FOR GOLFERS

PGA/LPGA professionals such as Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Lydia Cho, Tiffany Chan and Tommy Fleetwood practice meditation. Meditation can help improve focus, block out distractions and increase patience. Are these tools what you need to help you take strokes off your score and achieve your golf goals? Come and find out. Instructor Scott Bailey of the Prana Mudra Center will lead you through meditation exercises such as breath control, sound healing and mantras to help you develop a daily meditation practice to strengthen your mind, body and game for the days to come.
