The Center for Gifted Studies to host Advanced Placement Summer Institute
The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU is pleased to announce that it will host the Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute, in partnership with the College Board.

Held nationwide at more than 160 partner colleges and universities, AP Summer Institutes offer the most thorough professional learning available for AP educators. Attendees engage in more than 30 hours of content-rich training designed to strengthen how they teach their AP courses.

“Staff at The Center for Gifted Studies are proud to continue the tradition of hosting the WKU Advanced Placement Summer Institute,” said Dr. Julia Link Roberts, Executive Director of The Center for Gifted Studies.

The Student Research Council reminds faculty to encourage students to submit an abstract for this year’s 51st Annual Student Research Conference. The Abstract Submission Portal will be open until March 1. Learn More
Entry deadline Friday for Celebration of the Arts exhibit
Here's a reminder from the Kentucky Museum that the entry deadline is Friday (Feb. 12) for the 2021 US Bank Celebration of the Arts. The annual exhibit is moving to an online format this year.
Spotlight: Dr. Matthew Herman
Dr. Matthew Herman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Music, received an Honorable Mention award in the Music Teachers National Association Distinguished Composer Competition for his piece “Appalachian Trilogy.” This is the first time a Kentucky composer has been a finalist in the national competition since 1999.
