End of First Quarter Today
Today, Friday, Oct. 9 will be the last day of the first quarter. Report cards will be available on Headmaster after fall break. Please be sure to mark your calendar to view your student's report card on Wed., Oct. 21.

Fall Break
BCA will be closed Oct. 12 - 16 for Fall Break.
K - 8th Grade Families:
Due to lack of staffing, we will not be able to offer child care next week to families who have a current kindergarten - 8th grade student. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families.
We will continue to be open as usual for infants - PK4.

BCA Soccer Intramurals
Who: 1st - 4th grades - Monday and Thursday
5th - 8th grades - Tuesday and Friday
When: Begins Thurs., Oct. 22 through Tues., Nov. 17
Time: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $35 - includes T-shirt
What is Needed: Water bottle, cleats, shin guards, socks, soccer ball (size 4 soccer ball for 1st - 5th grade; size 5 soccer ball for 6th – 8th grade)
Physical Exam Form must be turned in prior to coming to play. If one was already turned in for cross country, your student is ready to go.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher Conference Day (PK3 - 8th) Fri., Oct. 30
BCA (K-8th) will be closed on Fri., Oct. 30 for Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Teachers for grades PK3 – 8th grade will be contacting you regarding a conference for your student. There will be no child care provided for students in K – 8th on this day.
Infants – PK4 will be open for childcare as usual.

PTL Events
Bonfire and Silent Auction - Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. in back parking lot of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, next to BCA.
Mark your calendars for our fall event to include a hot dog cook-out, bon fire and S'Mores! Look for more information and volunteer opportunities soon!

Student Events
"Egg Traps" created by the 3rd & 4th graders! This morning, the class learned all about kinetic energy and engineering processes in their experiment in Mrs. Woodrow’s science class. Each student designed their own “egg trap” to see if the encapsulated egg would stay in tact when dropped from a designated height.

There is Power in Prayer!
There is strength in numbers, and that is especially true when you pair numbers of people praying together for students!
Parent volunteer, Tisha Walker, is working on forming a group through BCA to meet one hour per week (via Zoom initially) to have "Moms in Prayer" here at BCA.
This is an international organization comprised of mothers who join together to pray, namely for school-age students.
The time commitment is one hour per week to be intentional in praying for specific needs of BCA students as well as any other students who are in need of prayerful guidance.
If you are interested in participating in BCA's group, please contact Tisha Walker at 423-309-2186 or detailstimes2@gmail.com. The date and time for the first meeting will be announced after fall break.
