Happy Friday to you! We have had a great week of classes as students and staff are settling into term two! Students submitted their choice for which mystery novel they will read in January and February. We also completed the “Mystery at the Talent Show” in families this morning in our Language Arts block. It was so much fun to see their talents and sleuthing abilities!
We began art electives this week and these will continue each afternoon until the break. Ask your students what they learned or started today! Our art electives will conclude in an art show in which we are inviting parents to join. The details are below. It should be a fun event.
Report cards from fall term are being sent out today via email. It was amazing to reflect on all the wonderful accomplishments of our students. They had an excellent term, full of achievements, challenges, growth, and grit.
Compassion thought of the week: This week’s compassion quote comes from one of our 7th graders who says, “Compassion to me is caring for others, helping them when they are having a tough time, spending time with them and letting them know why you are great friends. These three things are what compassion means to me.” What a great thought. Often we forget to tell people in our lives how much we appreciate them. We need to make time to appreciate those around us.
Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday for our last week of school in this decade!

Report cards were emailed to parents today. Please contact the office if you did not receive a report card for your student(s). To open the document, you simply use the student's birthday in this format: xx/xx/xxxx. We are proud of each and every student!

Students are doing a great job of informing their teachers of absences. However, we need parents or legal guardians to notify the office of any and all absences. The easiest way to let us know about an absence or upcoming trip is via email. Email us anytime at

PJ Day Wednesday, December 18, 2019
This is part of our student Nirvana package. Students are encouraged to wear pajamas and stay cozy and warm all day. PJ day is alawys a school favorite! It should be a fun day as we get closer to winter break.

Item Donations are being accepted, we are looking to provide our guests with an array of silent and live auction items and experiences. This is a great time of year to ask for donations from businesses, family, and friends while you are out and about.
With many social gatherings over the next few weeks, think of who you know who might be able to offer a unique experience – think locally and outside of Oregon (and the US); timeshares or rental homes, sporting event tickets, shadow a professional in an exciting career, host a private dinner party with a meal prepared by a chef, join a member at a private golf club for a round of golf, visit backstage at a theater performance or concert, etc.

Krakens
is a middle school girls rugby program. They believe that for every girl, there is a place in the fastest growing sport in America. No experience necessary! Rugby is a sport that is all inclusive, meaning that there is a place for every person, regardless of size or ability. Their club philosophy is that while winning is a gameday goal, life skills and personal growth are even more important. Rugby isn’t only about the game, but about life. They are dedicated to enhancing player’s coordination and athletic skills and confidence, as well as helping develop their character and HAVING FUN. Kraken operates out of Wilsonville, and are actively welcoming players from anywhere in the Southwest Portland metro area.

Anxiety 102
- Join us for a parent night! Guest speakers, Social Workers Sarah Hiatt, LCSW and Brittany Bucholz, LCSW, will facilitate an interactive evening with parent discussion and practice to support your child. This event builds upon the basics shared at Anxiety 101 parent education night, but is open to all to attend.
Parents are encouraged to come to any night that works even if it is not at their child's school.
