Join the WCA Board: Open Positions
Our board is currently looking for a Board Treasurer. We are looking for someone with financial or accounting experience. In addition we are also looking to fill other Director Positions. Experience in education, fundraising, public relations, and/or communications are a plus. All interested should apply. Application Link
Join the School Accountability Committee
WCA has 2 upcoming openings on the SAC. The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage, and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school's instructional program and quality improvement process. Additional information on SAC is available on the WCA website at WCA SAC. The SAC Bylaws especially contain a lot of information on how SAC works, positions, terms, etc.

We’re excited about the upcoming school year and working with Ms. Merkling. If you’re interested in joining the committee, please send a cover letter/note with why you’re interested in SAC and a resume to sac@worldcompassacademy.com by August 18, 2021. We’re looking forward to getting to know applicants and will select members to fill the open positions before our September 9, 2021 meeting.
Athletics Fall Registration Open Aug 1-20
Registration is open August 1-20. Our 5th-8th grade students are eligible to participate.
  1. Sign-up in MySchoolBucks to register for Girls Volleyball, Boys Soccer or X-Country.
  2. Please complete the online forms in MySchoolBucks
  3. Submit a hard copy of your athlete's Physical Form (signature from your doctor on this form) to Lisa Carpenter prior to August 20th.
  4. Attend Parent meeting August 19th at 4:15pm
  5. First practice August 23rd 4:00pm-5:30pm

Explorers Club Fall Registration
Explorers Club is gearing up for the new school year. Clubs are returning. New family fall registration begins on Monday, August 2, 2021. If you attended in the 2020-2021 school year, you will not need to register again in Procare, however, you will need to turn in updated enrollment forms. Please email any questions to ExplorersClub.

The Explorers Club is our Before and After Care program. The before school care will run from 6:30am - 8:00am and the after school care will run from 3:30pm - 6:00pm. The Explorers Club also offers Enrichment Clubs after school, Monday - Friday, from 4:00pm - 5:00pm, look for details to come their website.
Back to School 2021-2022 School Year
As we prepare for another school year, we wanted to share some important information. To see the full communication please use this LINK
  • School supplies are purchased by WCA
  • Your student will need:
  • Uniforms: Both Educational Outfitters and French Toast sell the WCA Formal Uniforms. Please review the entire dress code policy.
  • Backpack
  • Lunch box: If your student is purchasing lunch at school, you will need to sign-up through your MySchoolBucks account.
  • Back To School Night
  • Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 12. Families can meet their student’s teacher(s), see the classroom and the school, pick-up carpool numbers, and connect with school organizations (PTO, Explorer’s Club Before/After Care, athletics).
  • 4:30-6:30: Meet teachers in their classrooms
  • 5:00-5:45: New Family Grades 1-8 Information and Orientation Meeting (Kindergarten will have their own Parent Orientation Meeting on the First Day of School)
  • 6:15-7:00: Returning Families Town Hall: End of Year Data, 21/22 School Goals, Safety and Security Update, Carpool Update
  • The town hall and information meetings will be recorded and posted on the school website for any family uncomfortable with attending or unable to attend in-person.
  • Teacher Assignments and Middle School Schedules
  • Elementary school families will receive an email from their classroom teacher on August 8. Middle school schedules will be available for viewing in the Infinite Campus portal on August 8.

Library Books
Hoping you are enjoying reading this summer. If you find library books over the summer you can return them to WCA on Wednesdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Books not returned after 120 days are billed in your MySchoolBucks account and should be paid for in MySchoolBucks. Happy Summer Reading!!
