Dear Hoban Parents and Students,
Summit County has issued a Stay-at-Home Health Advisory through Dec. 16 in response to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases. The order states that “residents should only leave home to go to work or school, or for essential needs.”
Yesterday’s email stated that Hoban’s plan has been to continue with the present model of hybrid instruction and follow the established holiday break schedule. This still remains our plan. We know that this could change at any moment with Summit County or Governor DeWine’s directives. Until then or until changes within the Hoban community warrant us to make a change, we will sustain the hybrid learning model.
To date, we have reported six students and one educator with positive cases. Mandatory quarantining and the overall impact of these cases has been minimal. Currently, 68 students are quarantining - four are due to contracting COVID-19 and 64 are due to contact tracing from school, athletic or outside exposure. Hoban will monitor and report cases within our community.
Each family must make decisions based on what is best for the family and student. If a change to your student(s) learning model is necessary, please contact Michelle Agnoni.
Social Activities
Section 3 of the Advisory Order states “A meeting or social event that is outside of normal operations is advised to have no more than 10 individuals.” With this directive, Hoban is canceling the Football State Championship Watch Party scheduled for Friday evening. Information about other social events will be forthcoming.
