Spring is a time of new beginnings and the additional hours of light are both balm and boon as the pace of life begins to perk up. Our minds race between countless jarring and contrasting images and news flashes with which we are bombarded these days. We welcome this much earlier spring this year as we count the blessings in our Sunapee region bubble.

Spring has its hundred flowers,
Autumn its many moons
Summer has cool winds,
Winter its snow.
If useless thoughts do not cloud your mind,
each day is the best of your life.

CROWES PASTURE
(MONIQUE BYRNE)
Monique Byrne and Andy Rogovin perform original music and eye-opening covers that reflect a mutual passion, sense of discovery and celebration of life. Their tightly blended vocal harmonies are mixed with an expressive instrumental style that is best described as a "banjo-guitar romance."

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day - April 30, 2022
On Saturday, April 30, 2022, the Town of Sunapee will once again be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back campaign, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s nationwide effort to take back prescription drugs. Medicines that are no longer needed but remain in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse, including theft. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are increasing at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. In addition, many people do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medicine, often flushing them away or simply throwing them away – both potential safety and health hazards. The Take-Back campaign, which began in 2010, provides a safe way for people to dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs
The Sunapee Police Department is a registered collection site. On Saturday, April 30th, Sunapee residents are encouraged to participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back campaign. An officer will be available at the Sunapee Safety Services Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect your expired or unwanted prescription drugs.
NOTE: If you cannot bring your unwanted medications on April 30th, the Sunapee Police Department has a Medication Drop Box in the lobby of the Safety Services Building which is available for use Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

What is the most popular song from Aerosmith of all time? Well, according to Rolling Stone, we got this one right! 59% voted for "Dream On" while 'Walk This Way" came in second with 24% of the votes. Here is a little more information:
Steven Tyler wrote "Dream On" on a Steinway upright piano about four years before Aerosmith even formed. "It's about dreaming until your dreams come true," Tyler said. "It's about hunger and desire and ambition to be somebody that Aerosmith felt in those days. You can hear it in the grooves because it's there. It was 'Make it, don't break it' for real." The song barely cracked the Top 60 when they released it in 1973, but they knew it was a classic song, so after Toys in the Attic broke, they re-released an edited version of it that shot to the top of the charts all around the world. The band has played the song countless times, but it always gets the biggest reaction of the night. - Rolling Stone
