2020 Summer Library Club
Our Summer Library Club begins today and runs to July 31 with many different programming opportunities for all ages. We currently have no plans to have programs held in our building this year; however, there are many online programs scheduled, along with outdoor programs while maintaining social distancing, and prizes will still be awarded for completion of the summer reading goals.

We are using Beanstack again this year to log your reading and pre-registration is available now. If you participated in our library's past two Summer Library Clubs or in our Winter Reading Challenge, login to your account on your smartphone or go to our website to update your account or add family members to your account. If you have not used Beanstack before, you can download the Beanstack Tracker app to your smartphone or register for Beanstack through our library's website by clicking on the Imagine Your Story banner on our homepage, or from our Children , Teen or Adult program web pages.

Books may be reserved through our library or downloaded from Hoopla or Libby . Join us for our book club's first meeting on Wednesday, June 10, as Miss Heidi discusses this week's theme: Imagining with Folk Tales & Fairy Tales.
J.K. Rowling Releases New Book The Ickabog for FREE
J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series, has released her new book The Ickabog , chapter by chapter for free over the past several weeks, for children and families to enjoy during this time. The book began years ago as a story she wrote during the day, then read to her children each night. She was also writing a book for adults during that time, and it took precedence in publishing, so she put The Ickabog in the attic for another day, another time. As Rowling's message on her website states, "Then this lockdown happened. It’s been very hard on children, in particular, so I brought  The Ickabog  down from the attic, read it for the first time in years, rewrote bits of it and then read it to my children again. They told me to put back in some bits they’d liked when they were little, and here we are!" In addition to the book release, Rowling is also offering an illustration competition for a chance to have your artwork included in the printed version that will be published this November. Once published, Rowling stated, "I'm going to donate all my royalties to help people who have been affected by the coronavirus." Click here to visit The Ickabog website.
