If you want to increase your gardening knowledge and skills, the Bellevue Demonstration Garden (BDG) Workshop series is for you! A broad range of topics covering plants and methods that work well in the Pacific Northwest will be discussed. These workshops are offered to the general public and are appropriate for both beginning and experienced gardeners. Many of the workshop speakers are sought after horticulture educators by PNW gardening organizations -- several presented at the Feb 2022 NW Flower & Garden Show in Seattle.
The speaker for this presentation on Summer Sizzlers -- The Clematis of July, August and Beyond is Master Gardener Laura Watson. Let Laura show you the amazing beauty and variety of the summer clematis! Along with her great photos Laura will discuss the varied clematis of high summer, including the Profuse Clematis (aka viticellas), the Trumpets and Urns (aka texensis/viorna/crispa), the Late Large-Flowered Clematis, and Non-Climbing Clematis. Get details about the care of each type of clematis and recommendations for easy clematis for you to try. Laura is a sought after garden educator -- featured at the 2022 NW Flower & Garden Show this past February.
There is a modest fee of $5 per workshop this year. We've introduced a Series subscription which gives you the option to purchase all nine Apr-Jun BDG workshops for $34, a 25% discount off the total cost. An additional enhancement -- starting with this second quarter series, BDG workshops will be recorded and available to registered participants after each workshop. Watch at your convenience if not able to attend on Saturday.
Details and links to BDG workshop registrations including the Apr-Jun BDG Series 2 subscription are available on the BDG Workshops web page at https://www.mgfkc.org/education/bdg-workshops. You have the option to register for the Series subscription or to register for workshops individually.
