A PRAYER FOR FEBRUARY
BY KATIE HIGGINS, ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT OF MISSION
|
Loving God,
May we sing of your goodness each day,
in union with one another and all of creation.
In word and deed,
may our lives proclaim our hope and trust in You.
May Your all-embracing love echo in us
and ring out to all the world.
Amen.

Nursing & Marketing Alumnae Return for
Learn at Lunch
Series
|
|
Magnificat welcomed several nursing students early in January to kick off the semester’s Learn at Lunch Series. Many thanks to our guest presenters
Lauren Najda '17
(Duquesne),
Graciela Medina-Castillo '17
(Cleveland State University),
Julia French '17
(Xavier), and
Molly Bauer '17
(Xavier) who spoke with students about preparing for college, successfully managing college classes, and getting the most out of clinical nursing experience. Later in the month,
Kelly Markus ’90
returned to Magnificat from the east coast to share her love of and expertise in experiential marketing with students. By speaking to her experience as the founder of Hunters Point, Kelly opened students’ eyes to the world of marketing and executive event production.
We are grateful to all of our guest presenters for bringing real-world experience, advice, and connections to our students through the
Learn at Lunch
series. In February, students will have the opportunity to meet alumnae insurance professionals.

The Sisters of the Humility of Mary’s Healthcare Ministry
by Mary Cay Doherty
A comprehensive history of the Sisters’ healthcare ministry would require a book-length manuscript—so great were their contributions. This article, then, purports only to provide a snapshot of the Sisters’ role in opening four facilities that continue to meet the needs of people in the Youngstown, Warren, Cleveland, and Lorain communities today. As our story closes, we will also look at healthcare collaboration between the Sisters of the Humility of Mary and the Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of Bon Secours.
