This month's newsletter has a little of everything. There's an article about mailing lithium batteries and another about the requirements for the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods under the Dangerous Goods Regulations of IATA.

The lead article addresses the training requirements of the USEPA for facility personnel. A follow-up article addresses an important question head-on: Does USEPA allow on-line training for facility personnel?

A little something for everyone!

Personnel Training for Hazardous Waste Generator
Expressive Training with some Class
The hazardous waste regulations of the USEPA mandate initial and annual training for the facility personnel of a large quantity generator (LQG) of hazardous waste. In this article I identify and explain what training is required, for which personnel, the required content of the training, and recordkeeping. This article also explains the new allowance under the Generator Improvements Rule for online training. Read more here.
FAQ: Is online training allowed for facility personnel of a large quantity generator of hazardous waste?
Facility personnel must successfully complete a program of classroom instruction, online training (e.g., computer-based or electronic), or on-the-job training that teaches them to perform their duties in a way that ensures compliance. Learn more here.
