Special City Council Meeting: Monday, March 28
The next City Council meeting will be Monday, March 21 at 7:30 pm, in celebration of Women's History Month. Council Members will be joined by special guests to honor and recognize 'Amazing Women of Cleveland Heights'.

Joe Sinnott Confirmed as City Administrator

On Monday, March 21, 2022, Cleveland Heights City Council confirmed Joe Sinnott as the new City Administrator. Sinnott became the first person in Cleveland Heights' to fill this role, created as part of the City's transition to a strong-mayor form of government.

Refuse and Recycling Collection Day Changing
Keep an eye on your front door! During the week of April 4, some residents will be receiving a new garbage collection day notice.
If your collection day is being impacted, you will receive a yellow door hanger like the one shown, indicating which day your trash will be collected. Changes will be effective the week of April 11. The City's online refuse collection map will be updated on Friday, April 8, to reflect the new refuse/recycling collection schedule.
Please confirm your collection day by entering your address into the refuse collection map on or after April 8.

Loose Leaves Collection
Beginning April 4, the Public Works Department will resume collecting loose leaves. Spring collection will continue through April 29. For tips and information, visit our leaves collection guide.

Fire Hydrants Flushing
The Cleveland Heights Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the community beginning Monday, April 4. Check your water daily for rust before drinking or washing clothes. Rust remover will be available at Fire Station #1, located at 3445 Mayfield Road. Hydrant flushing is expected to continue through May.

Bulk Pick-Up: Week of April 4
Bulk pick-up will occur on your regular collection day the week of April 4. Bulk items are collected once per month during the first FULL week of each month on your regular trash day; (Monday-Friday is defined as a full week). Bulk pick-up is limited to four items per pick-up at no charge. All bulk pick-up items that are fabric must be wrapped in plastic. For additional bulk items, to request collection on any other day, or to request a special collection of loose brush, please use the online form. Cost is $10 per bulk item for a special pick-up.

REMINDER: Get Help Preparing Your Municipal Income Taxes
The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) collects municipal income taxes for Cleveland Heights and is now offering online filing, file by mail, and drop-off services for all of your tax documents. RITA may be reached by phone at 1 (800) 860-7482.

REMINDER: 2022 Exterior Housing Inspections
Once every five years, the City of Cleveland Heights inspects the exteriors of all owner-occupied, single-family homes. There is NO FEE for these inspections. Inspections are conducted on a street-by-street basis as part of a five-year rotation.
Properties that have had a point-of-sale inspection conducted within the preceding three years are not subject to a new exterior inspection. To help prepare for these inspections, Cleveland Heights' Division of Inspectional Services has prepared a checklist (PDF) for residents. Spring Egg Hunt: April 9
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Spring Egg Hunt is back! Cleveland Heights residents ages 1 through 9 are invited to participate form the event on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 am, at the Forest Hill Park Meadow. Separate egg hunts will be held based on age groups. Kids should bring their own basket.
The event is free of charge and families are encouraged to bring

Family Fishing Workshop: April 2, 2022
|
Join Doan Brook Watershed Partnership and Cleveland Metroparks Youth Outdoors for fun, family-friendly day of fishing. The workshop begins at 10:00 am and will cover the basics; from tackle and technique to casting, fish ID, and handling. After the learning session, everyone can test their luck fishing for stocked trout in the beautiful Rockefeller Lagoon.
Participants can bring their own rod and reel, sets will also be available to borrow. Bait will be provided. Participants should bring a cooler and ice if they plan to keep their catches. No fishing license is required to fish in the lagoon.

REMINDER: Reaching Heights' Many Villages Needs Volunteers
Since 2005, Reaching Heights' "Many Villages" in-school tutors have provided one-on-one support to more than 200 students each year in CH-UH school buildings. Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing feedback, and the heartfelt appreciation of teachers and students. There is more demand for Many Villages tutors this year than ever before, and Reaching Heights needs more volunteers!
