NNCG Working Paper on Disability Inclusion
Greetings!

With great pleasure, I’m sharing the release of Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy, a working paper for grantmakers and the consultants who support their work. This document serves as a starting place of learning for our Disability Inclusion Working Group at the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers. As a discrete environmental scan, it provides a bird’s-eye view of how the philanthropic sector is generally addressing disability inclusion and presents a few examples of grantmaker initiatives and projects. It also includes profiles of some amazing consultants!

We hope that you enjoy reading what will serve as a launchpad to our disability inclusion offerings in 2021. We are each individually and collectively on a journey to center the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the work we do on behalf of our philanthropic clients. Disability inclusion is key to this effort.

Please send us a note if you are interested in joining the Disability Inclusion Working Group in 2021. We are looking forward to expanding our community of learning and practice.

We are also excited to introduce our new logo with this newsletter! We are hard at work on a website refresh, and will send an announcement as soon as it is ready. In the meantime, enjoy this sneak peek of what is to come!

New & Renewing Members
What our Members are Saying
NNCG ramped up its summer programming to include a 4-part series of interactive virtual consultant Bootcamps that support the work/life balance of your consulting practice.

The feedback has been overwhelming!
~"Humbled to be a part of such an elite group of people"
~"I really enjoyed the session and the caliber of panelists! There was so much that inspired me to think and work differently."
~"The two sessions so far have been super interesting. Thanks so much for hosting the bootcamp!"

On August 7th, we held a virtual Racial Equity training session for members of our Steering Committee, task forces, and Disability Inclusion Working Group. This session was made possible with funding from a United Philanthropy Forum mini-grant. The 4-hour session focused - among other things - on greater clarity around how to navigate difficult conversations with clients on topics related to racial equity. Again, the feedback was impressive:
~"...most important was the chance to have some dialog with our community of consultants."
~"Terrific & wide ranging, so meaningful to chat with peers and exchange perspectives on common challenges."
~"I felt so supported in the complexity (and toughness) of my situation"
~"Great to have a small cohort of smart consultants to talk about challenges."
