TALKING TENNIS SOUTHERN STYLE CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH

BRUCE STONE INDUCTEE TO THE BLACK TENNIS HALL OF FAME
|
Through Bruce's 45+ years of leadership and coaching, he has introduced over 10,000 people in black communities to the game of tennis. As a leader, volunteer and coach, he has an abundance of accomplishments. Now in his late 70's, he can still be found on the courts 20-25 hours per week in the summer and 10-12 in the winter, teaching the game he loves.

Purchase Area tennis hosted an Australian Open party at Kenlake Tennis Center on Jan 20th. Coach Jorge Caetano and the Lady Racers provided free drills on all the courts. Food, drinks and prizes were enjoyed.

BEGINNER TENNIS IN PADUCAH

Do you know someone who wants to learn tennis? Classes begin March 23 at Noble Park. Check the Paducah Parks recreation website for dates, times, and fees. Registration begins February 1. Tennis Apprentice is for adults of all ages.

KENTUCKY TEAM STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
|
The first-ever Kentucky Team State Championship. July 15 - 17 in Lexington with 14U and 18U divisions. Each co-ed team must have a minimum of 3 boys and 3 girls playing a series of 5 matches to determine a team winner. This format is closer to high school tennis as opposed to the individual nature of most tournaments. Mark your calendars, registration will open soon. Get those teams formed! Questions: Bryan Hash
