Message from Magnus
Earlier this year, UCI formally dedicated the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building, a six-floor structure that houses faculty and students from four schools who share interests in solving problems of global importance. The Samueli School occupies half the building as our engineering researchers conduct team science – a collaborative effort to address a scientific challenge.

Multidisciplinary research has long been a hallmark of UCI innovation, and with the opening of ISEB, faculty are able to come together to form interdisciplinary clusters to tackle relevant topics. Several examples of team science are featured in the latest issue of the Samueli School Dean’s Annual Report.

Best,
Magnus Egerstedt, Ph.D.
