Saying “ farewell ” to SCS at the end of the school year? Telling us early has its perks!

To get an early start on classroom staffing for the 2020-21 school year, help us identify upcoming vacancies. Special incentives are in store for early notice of retirement or resignation at the culmination of the school year.

If you plan to retire from an instruction-based role in May , let us know by Feb. 28 to have the remainder of your required PD hours waved – and still keep your PD flex days! That’s right, you’ll still earn those coveted flex days without the mandatory PD requirements if you give us an early notice of your retirement.  View the details here .

For educators planning to resign at the end of the school year , telling us early means you’ll get extended medical benefits through the summer. Let us know by March 20 , and your insurance coverage will continue through July 31 rather than ending on May 31.  Click here for more information .

Nominate a teacher for the inaugural District Teacher Advisory Council.

In just a few weeks, Superintendent Ray will meet with the inaugural group of the SCS District Teacher Advisory Council (DTAC) . DTAC was created by Superintendent Ray as a means of empowering teachers and relying on their insights and expertise to make the best decisions for our students. DTAC members will have monthly meetings with Superintendent Ray and District leaders to discuss critical education issues, help guide District decision-making and provide input from a classroom teacher's perspective. Each school will be represented by a DTAC member and an alternate . If you know of a teacher who would be a great fit to represent their school, nominate him/her by Feb. 7 for an opportunity to be considered for the council.
