County's GreeNCC program receives open space funding
New Castle County's GreeNCC program is one of eight programs administered by local municipalities to receive part of $75,000 in funding from Delmarva Power and the Delaware Nature Society. The grant funding has gone toward the creation of a rain garden installation at Paper Mill Park. The rain garden is designed to absorb runoff from the park's pavilion. The approximately 20 foot by 40 foot garden contains mulch and other materials that allow rainwater to soak into the ground and not run off into tributaries like Middle Run, which would carry harmful nutrients and pollutants to the Delaware Bay.
County offering another 10 pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will offer another 10 pop-up testing sites next week, in addition to the fixed sites offered by the State of Delaware. Fixed sites can be found at Walgreens, State service centers and some physicians offices, every weekday during normal business hours. As a result of community demand, New Castle County will operate pop-up sites with evening hours. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are quick, easy and painless. To register for testing at one of the county's sites, CLICK HERE. For more information on the State's sites, CLICK HERE.
Delmarva Power to begin construction along JAM trail

The project will begin at the Frenchtown Road end of the trail and move North toward Boulden Blvd.. Access to the trail will remain open during the project, but riders and pedestrians will need to exercise caution in the construction areas and delays may occur during travel. Events work to educate on the importance of U.S. Census
Volunteers fanned out across New Castle County on Saturday to educate people on the importance of the 2020 U.S. Census and encourage people to fill out their census form if they haven't yet done so. The census helps determine federal funding allocations and an undercount could cost Delaware millions. If you need to fill out your 2020 census, visit www.my2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020.
