The Ray-Pec Public School Foundation awarded a $750 grant to the district's elementary school counselors to help purchase books for a parent book study. Ray-Pec CARES is also contributing $750 toward the project. During its surprise Prize Patrol on Wednesday, Foundation Board members presented the grant award check to Eagle Glen Counselor Rachele Williams. Parents across the district are invited to participate in the  online book club, exploring the book, "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline."  Sign up here

Funds to supplement classrooms
The Foundation Prize Patrol traveled the District on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to present more than $11,000 in grant awards.

Many of the grant awards will be used for items to provide hands-on experiences for students. Some examples include robotics parts, books for a parent book student, a 3D printer, and video production equipment.

Foundation Board President Phil Parke, Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston, Superintendent Dr. Kari Monsees, and several Foundation Board Members made the surprise presentations.

Teachers and staff were provided the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $750 to enhance teaching and learning and impact student achievement.   See all grant awards
RPHS to present musical "Guys and Dolls"
Performances of Broadway classic are set for Feb. 6, 7, 8, and 9
Ray-Pec High School announces its winter musical comedy, the American theatre classic "Guys and Dolls." 

Performances of the show will be in the High School Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6, 7, and 8 at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 9. Reserve tickets by calling the box office line, 892-3999, extension 2400. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Free child care will be provided. 
 
"Guys and Dolls" tells the story of two couples, Sarah Brown and Sky Masterson, a missionary and a gambler who are new to love and its challenges, and Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide, a couple engaged for 14 years trying to find the courage to move forward into marriage. 

The show's great music, snappy one-liners, and examination of the relationships between men and women led to it being selected for numerous awards both when it premiered and in the years since. Read more

Ray-Pec is top fundraising team for Polar Plunge
The Plunging Panthers raise more than $15,000
Thanks to everyone who participated in or supported the Plunging Panthers Team for the Polar Plunge on Jan. 25 at Longview Lake! We're still waiting for the final update on fundraising, but as of today, we are the top fundraising team with over $15,000 in contributions toward Special Olympics.
Annual Gala features a Hawaiian Luau theme
Proceeds benefit the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation
Join the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation for a Luau-themed evening out with dinner at Centerview, live and silent auctions to raise money to benefit Ray-Pec's students and staff. Dress for the event is resort casual.

The  Gala is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Centerview in Raymore. Reserved seating is $60 per person.

Nominate teacher and support staff honorees
Deadline to submit nominations is Monday, Feb. 3
Feb. 3 is the deadline to submit nominations for the 2020 Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Employee of the Year.
