Share the Plate:
May's Share the Plate is going to UBarU, a Unitarian Universalist Camp
Retreat Center in the Hill Country near Kerrville, Texas.  Their mission is
to provide a welcoming, peaceful place to gather for spiritual, educa-tional, and recreational purposes in harmony with our Unitarian Universalist principles and the land.

Love Notes Recipient for May - Carrot Express Drivers
Every month, we recognize a group for all that they do and bring to the church.  For the month of May, we are recognizing the folks that volunteered to deliver Easter goodies to our kiddos.  Please write a love note to share what this meant to you and your family. Send those love notes to: lovenotes@liveoakuu.org.

Special Notices
Congregational Meeting Voting Results
The (unofficial) results of the congregational meeting votes are in. All votes passed. You can see more information here.

Live Oak Grounds
We've heard stories of members & friends coming to Live Oak to enjoy the labyrinth and/or to eat lunch. We are so happy you are enjoying our beautiful outdoor space.  While we encourage you to continue to do so, please don't come into the building.  Please take your trash home with you.  No one is emptying the outside trash cans and we have suspended our weekly trash service.

Exploring Membership Workshop
You are invited to this Exploring Membership Zoom workshop, Sunday, June 7th from noon to 2pm. RSVP not necessary.  Please join us. The link will be posted on the What's Happening page.

The Show Must Go On!
We've figured out how to do just about everything else virtually, so why not have a virtual Talent Show!
The Live Oak second annual/special edition Talent Show will be presented on Zoom on Saturday June 27 at 5 p.m. Video entries should be sent to Rev.Joanna. If you kinda wanted to perform in the show but not in front of a live audience, this is your chance! You can do as many takes as you need to and no one will know. Last year we had all kinds of music acts as well as gymnastics, monologue, drag show, clogging and tap dancing. Let's branch out this year and have even more variety! First-timers and pros and everyone in between are all encouraged to perform. And just because you've performed as part of a Sunday service doesn't mean you can't be in the talent show. This is a chance for you to choose your material/music. Please be sure it's family friendly! Questions? Contact Jen Swan.

Question Box - Send Us Your Questions!
In June, we'll be doing our traditional "Question Box" sermon, even if it's in this untraditional "online worship" way. But Rev. Joanna & Carrie need your help! Please email a video of yourself asking your question to:

Adults - minister@liveoakuu.org by Saturday, June 6.

Tips for your video:
* If possible, prop your phone up on something solid, rather than have someone hold it.
* Turn your phone sideways (horizontal) to record.
* Make sure you are close enough to the mic to be heard clearly.
* Minimize background noise.
* We need room to "fade in" and "fade out" your video. So: start recording. Smile pleasantly at the camera and mentally count to 5. Ask your question. Smile pleasantly and again mentally count to 5 before moving to turn off the camera.

Questions: Just about anything! Theology, Unitarian Universalism, Live Oak, current events ... want to hear a previous Question Box sermon? Here's the one from 2016.

Tim & Sue Buckley are very proud grandparents!
THANK YOU to Henry, John, and Ellen Chuo for helping us clean up the overgrown area behind Common Ground. Now it is possible to repair the deteriorating fence in the background.

Zoom Update
The folks at Zoom have been hard at work to make Zoom more secure.  They have released an update that includes some security measures.  After 5/30, this update will happen automatically the first time you join a meeting.  It may take a few minutes, so you should plan to join a little early.  It is an option to do it ahead of time.  When you login, you'll see this:
Click on "now" and follow the instructions.

Tuesday Night Deep Dive
This regular 7:00pm Tuesday evening Zoom Deep Dive with Kiya is for those who need a deeper check-in and a supportive place to process.  The link can be found on the What's Happening This Week page.

Zoom!
We encourage you to connect with Zoom in various ways.

If you are planning a Zoom gathering for Live Oak members on your own Zoom account, please provide Diane with the date, time, link and title of the meeting. She will add it to the What's Happening page.

If you need a zoom meeting scheduled on the Live Oak account, send a request to Diane, and she will help you schedule it and provide the link.

What's Happening This Week
Enriching Connections has become an even more vital part of all that we do. We want to make it as easy for you to stay connected as possible. So we encourage you to add something to your morning routine. As you sip your coffee or tea, go to this link:  http://www.liveoakuu.org/whats-happening-this-week/
It will have the most up-to-date information about connection events. Be sure and save the link! We want to enrich connections, but we are also putting safeguards in place so that we can feel safer when we gather in this way. (But if you have a friend who might want to join, feel free to privately send them the link.)
