2020 General Assembly - Week 1
2020 General Assembly Session Convenes
The 2020 General Assembly convened this Wednesday in Richmond. Over the 60-day "long" session, legislators will consider thousands of bills. As of yesterday afternoon, over 2,300 bills have already been filed with over 1,000 more expected to be submitted before the January 17th deadline.

Along with the historic election of the Virginia House of Delegates' first female Speaker, both the House and the Senate have released their committee assignments for the 2020 legislative session. You can find the House Committee assignments and Senate Committee assignments by clicking on the corresponding links.

In addition to bill tracking, VA West Legislative Liaison Terry Durkin delivered copies of the 2020 VA West Legislative Agenda this week to all 32 members of the VA West General Assembly Delegation.

If you have not yet registered for the 2020 VA West Capital Reception in Richmond, you still have time to do so by clicking this link . Legislators are beginning to confirm their attendance and this is a great opportunity to get some face-time with them as session begins to ramp up.
