Dear Parents:
Wow! What a year this has been! I promise when we choose "Game on!" as our theme for this year that we weren't really thinking about Jumanji, but that's what we got.
We have had students learning in remote, hybrid, and in person models with changes happening every quarter. We have worn masks, cleaned, and social distanced as best we could. We have reported COVID cases to our families, the Denton County Health Department, and the Texas Education Agency. We have traced close contacts and quarantined staff and students. And then, just when we thought we might be turning a corner, the winter storm hit and the first floor of our campus sustained major damage. We were off for a week due to the bad weather, learned online for three weeks, and then had a much needed spring break. During this time, we packed up an entire campus and moved to a temporary location. Somewhere along the way, we banned the phrase, "What else can happen?" We'll always be grateful to LifePoint Church in Plano for taking us in for these last 11 weeks and giving us a place to be together, and we'll always be amazed at the resiliency of our Trivium Academy family.
Now, it's time for this school year to come to an end. The majority of the repairs to our Hebron campus are supposed to be complete by the end of this week, and we are working on a plan to transition back to Carrollton. The gym repairs will take a little bit longer but should be complete by mid-July. We're looking forward to being back home and returning to some normalcy next year.
Many have asked about our plans for next year. For 2021-22, we are not planning on offering any remote or hybrid options, and as of June 5, masks can no longer be mandated in Texas public schools per Gov. Abbott. Our plan is to be back to business as usual with a start date of August 11. Stay tuned this summer for Meet the Teacher dates and other back to school activities, and as we look forward to this next school year, I promise that we will not choose "Level up!" as our new theme.
I hope that you all have a well-deserved relaxing summer, and I can't wait to see you in August!
Proud to be a Knight,
Sheryl Bradley
Superintendent

Meet Beth Frank, our resident Brit! Mrs. Frank currently teaches 8th grade science, 9th grade Biology, and 10th grade Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC). This is Beth's third year at Trivium, her 9th year teaching in the US, and, including her time teaching the UK, her 20th year in the classroom in total.
Mrs. Frank is great at building relationships with students. She's also a fantastic Genius Hour teacher because she believes in the model whole heartedly. Her own Genius Hour project is learning Mandarin! In her spare time she enjoys being with with her family, playing video games, and art.
