ANNOUNCEMENTS
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2019
  • The spring season of Girls on the Run is starting soon! This program is open to 7th and 8th grade girls. They meet Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for fun activities, snacks, and walking or running on the track. Students can see Ms. McClure in room B-5 this week for more information.
  • Tryout/Application/Audition information is now available for students who would like to participate in athletics, yearbook, library aide, etc. for the 2020-2021 school year. This information is posted throughout the school and on our website.

  • Students should check the stage area of the cafeteria for any lost items. Any items left after Friday will be donated to local charities.
  • Attention 8th Grade Parents: Would your student like to be a Library Aide? The library is currently accepting online applications at bit.ly/20lslapp for the Library Service Learning class for next school year at FHS! The application deadline is January 31. Students interested in getting involved and serving our FHS community are encouraged to apply. This class is a full year course. Students can stop by the library for more information.
  • There will be a parent information meeting for students wanting to try out for WJHS Cheer on February 12 at 7 p.m. in the FHS gym.
  • FHS Choir Auditions for rising 9th graders will be Feb. 6  before school, after school, and during lunch in the choir room at Woodland.
Congrats to Woodland Robotics!
Huge congrats to our Robotics students who spent last Saturday proving they're some of the best in the state! Our EDR teams took Tournament Champions X2, Robot Skills Champions, and Excellence Award. Our IQ teams took home the Teamwork Champions X2, and the Teamwork Champions Runner-up! Next stop for them will be the State Championship.

AVID is Accepting Applications

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year from current 7th graders through February 21. For more information on the AVID program, visit the Fayetteville Public Schools website at FPSAVID. Students may complete applications online at   https://tinyurl.com/FPSAVID2020.
February 11 Bond Election

There will be two 2020 Bond Election Information Nights coming up. These are facilitated by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. The first one will be Mon., Jan. 27 from 6-7 p.m. at Owl Creek, and the second one will be Fri., Feb. 7 from 4-5 p.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library.
