Meet Your Career Coach
Dennis Joyce
After graduating from college with a degree in Business Management and Labor Relations with an emphasis in Human Resources, Dennis spent 10 years working in the HR and recruiting field for two major organizations: OfficeMax and KeyBank. In 2011, his HR Relationship Manager position was eliminated from the bank, and he found himself in an employment search and wanted to do something different – something that would utilize his skills and experience with a focus on developing others and making an impact. The Career Coach position at Tri-C was a perfect fit!

Dennis is passionate about helping students reach their career goals. He recommends working with the Career Center as soon as possible: "You do not need to be in an active job search to work with us. Almost all students at the College are here because at some point they’re going to apply for a position in their new career field, or a higher level position in their current field, so let us help you get prepared now."

He also recommends having relatable work experience to put on your resume before graduating: "If your program does not have a required field experience to complete, come in and work with us so that we can assist you in obtaining an internship or co-op field experience while you’re here. Having recent, relatable work experience on your resume, along with your education, will make you much more marketable to future employers."

In his free time, Dennis enjoys swimming, kayaking, fishing, and playing games at his family's cottage in Marblehead, OH. He and his girlfriend enjoy cooking together and have an active 14-year-old German Shepard named Cotton, who likes to sneak into the refrigerator and eat the food they make.
