Dear CCGS Families,
We ha d another great week of learning at Circle Center Grade School. Thank you so much for sharing your photos with us for our Virtual Veteran's Day assembly. A huge thank you to Mrs. Anderson for putting this together for us. We are also thankful to Ms. Niner for recording and teaching her students these beautiful and patriotic songs. It was so heartwarming to watch the video and listen to our kids sing. This week I was also able to spend time teaching in classrooms. It was so fun leading art lessons and watching a learn to draw video from Ms. Niner with our kindergarten class, visiting a remote classroom and watching and hearing the reading skills they are practicing, watching second grade hybrid students practice and learn about double digit addition with regrouping, and leading a morning meeting and some math work with 3rd and 1st graders. I also got to have fun outside ate recess with a few classes this week. We are also continuing to practice safe measures so we can stay in school! Please continue to keep your children home if they or anyone in the house is showing symptoms. If someone in the household is awaiting COVID test results, then please do not send your child to school. If you missed Dr. Shimp's email that was sent on November 12, 2020 please be sure to read that. There is very important information about some changes for Thanksgiving week in that email. Our teachers and I will be sending more specific information next week. Next week on November 19th we will be having our first ever Virtual Family Reading Night with interactive activities and fun for the whole family. Please see the information below and click on this zoom link at 6:00 p.m to join us.

Please add any November pictures you take to this album . Thank you so much for sharing your at home pictures with us!

I hope you have a great weekend with your family!
Stay safe
Mrs. Hamm

Congratulations to these two students who were making excellent choices and following our 4 school Cornerstones. They will be saying the pledge of allegiance for us next week. Remote families can join us in the pledge each day by clicking on our CCGS Google Website
Congratulations to Ms. Foster's kindergarten class on winning the Golden Platter award this week. They will be getting a recess outside with me and will get to have the trophy in their room all week long!
The above pictures are from teachers and families showing the fun that took place this week at home and at school. Below, you will find Ms. Seeman's Classroom highlight photos and news.

Ms.Seeman’s Classroom Highlight

We have had a wonderful week here in first grade! We celebrated Veterans Day on Wednesday by watching our virtual assembly. The students were so excited to sing along and learn all about veterans. We strive to be brave and courageous like our veterans. Thank you to all of our veterans for their strength, bravery, and sacrifice!

Our focus in ELA this week has been about how people help out in their community. We have read stories about real people who have helped our community like Martin Luther King Jr. and our veterans. We have enjoyed practicing our spelling words with our play-doh and whiteboards this week! It has also been fun learning about narrative writing, and coming up with special memories to write about and share.

In math, we have been continuing to work on addition and subtraction within 20. We have been getting on Dreambox and Moby Max to practice our math strategies and fact fluency. We also love practicing these new skills in our math stations, it is one of our favorite times of the day!

We have been working so hard this year to spread kindness by making new friends, helping others, giving compliments, and sharing smiles. We are so glad to have so many people supporting us like our parents, grandparents, and the teachers and staff here at CCGS. We are excited to keep learning and growing this year!

Love,
Ms. Seeman’s Firsties
