Rising up in the New Year. Soheila Adelipour will talk about her journey in her new book,
Dancing to the Darkest Light
. Through hearing her story and interactive Q&A, participants will have a chance to learn how Ms. Adelipour faced and overcame many challenges. Dr. Nooravi will then help participants find a new way of looking at how they can achieve their dreams in 2020 using the DRIVE IT* model. The evening will end with a book signing by Ms. Adelipour.

Winter Wellness Retreat
. After last year's sold-out event, we are looking forward to starting the new year by providing a variety ways to work on the mind, body, and spirit connection. Sanam Naraghi Anderlini Appointed Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire

Handed out twice a year in the UK, this special honour is given to recognise people’s “amazing achievements and service to the country”, and those making a positive impact in their line of work.
As the Founder and Executive Director of the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN),
Sanam Naraghi Anderlini
has over two decades of experience as a peace strategist working globally on conflicts, crises and violent extremism with a mix of civil society, governments and the UN. At ICAN, she spearheads the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL) comprising independent women-led organizations active in 40 countries globally, preventing violence and promoting peace, rights and pluralism. IAWF congratulates Sanam on this amazing achievement!

Sussan Deyhim Concert in Irvine on January 16th

IAWF welcomes our Women of Influence award recipient,
Sussan Deyhim
, to Orange County for her concert on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
Renowned for creating a hauntingly beautiful vocal language, Sussan Deyhim is a composer and multi-faceted vocalist from Iran, who has collaborated with legendary artists, including Peter Gabriel, Bobby McFerrin and U2. This special night will feature songs from La Belle et La Bête, her most recent recording project. Accompanied by a stellar jazz trio, she will perform a program of classic love tunes and popular songs from 1950s and 1960s Iran. Sussan will also perform some of her own original compositions, created in collaboration with the Golden Globe winning composer, Richard Horowitz, that were created in conjunction with video installations by the acclaimed visual artist Shirin Neshat. This work, “Shirin Neshat: I Will Greet the Sun Again” is currently exhibiting at the Broad Museum.
