From Rev. Christen's Desk
Dear Epiphany Parish:

We had a wonderful celebration of All Saints' Day on Sunday! It was great to worship together and to remember all of the saints in our lives.

One announcement that I made on Sunday in church is that there has been a change in the Bishop's visitation schedule for this month. Bishop Gayle will not be coming to Epiphany on November 24. Instead, she will join us on Thursday, December 19 at 7pm for a Celebration of New Ministry where I will be officially installed as your rector. I hope that you and your family will join us that evening. More information can be found in the announcement below. Because the Celebration of New Ministry is a special event, Epiphany Parish will be placed back on the visitation schedule and Bishop Alan will be with us one Sunday in 2020 for a regular parish visitation.

Also on Sunday, Tom Schneider, one of your Diocesan Convention delegates from Epiphany Parish gave us some updates about what happened at Diocesan Convention this past Saturday in Boston. Convention is where the work of the diocese happens. We approved a budget, we elected officers, we worshiped together, we approved a minimum for clergy compensation, and we voted on a number of resolutions that impact our life together as a diocese. If you are curious to learn more about this work, please visit https://www.diomass.org/diocesan-convention-2019

Peace in Christ,
Rev. Christen

Breaking Bread Thank You!
Thank you to all who helped with Breaking Bread this week!  Thanks to those who provided food, who came to set up, cook, serve and clean up.

This is an important mission right here in the town of Walpole.  All who attend as guests are grateful for the work we do to help keep this dinner happening each week.
Sunday School News

Next week we talk about Elijah.

Don't forget to donate toward the Heifer Project, if you haven't already (Donations are collected by Mr. Hee). I heard that donations total about $300, to date. That's enough for a goat and other animals. The older class is busy talking about what they might want to buy. It's a fun outreach project.

We are looking f orward to seeing everyone on Sunday...
Don't Forget!  Please be sure to arrive by 9:45.
We have a Junior Church service that will begin
promptly at 9:45.

Joanne Douglas , Asst. Superintendent

Save These Dates!
Tuesday, NOVEMBER 19 ~ The Pastoral Care Team will be hosting a luncheon for retirees & seniors & anyone else who might have the mid-day off and would like to join us. We will start with a brief communion service at 11:30 followed by a seasonal luncheon. Please contact the church office if you plan to attend or are able to assist in contributing a dish for the luncheon.

Saturday, DECEMBER 9 ~ We are introducing a new celebration, to be held on Saturday December 9in the undercroft. It will be fun for the whole family. We will be raffling off decorated gift boxes containing gift certificates; tickets will be sold for food - pizza, chocolate chip cookies, and hot chocolate; and there will be Christmas carols, sparkling lights, fellowship, and more. We hope you will join the fun.

To prepare for the event, we ask you to donate a gift card. We are requesting $25 gift cards or certificates from your favorite restaurant. If you are at your favorite restaurant, ask for a donation from them. Half the proceeds will be donated toward the American Cancer Society.

Thursday, DECEMBER 19 ~ All are encouraged to come to a Celebration of New Ministry on December 19 at 7pm. At this service Rev. Christen will officially be 'installed' as the rector of Epiphany Parish. Please come and support this new and exciting time in the life of your church. Bishop Gayle will be preaching and celebrating at this service and clergy from our Deanery and the town of Walpole will be attending. There will be a reception following the service in the undercroft.
