Dear Ballona Wetlands Advocates,
This Friday, April 22, is Earth Day! "Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations" (National Geographic). We hope you all are able to take some time that day to celebrate.
For this month's issue, we are excited to share up-and-coming events, recap our most recent tabling event, cover local news, and present the bird of the month. Each section can be found as you stroll through.
Project Updates:
- Our outreach and education team is working on a new curriculum based on the traditional/indigenous uses of the different flora and fauna located in and around the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve.
- The Ballona Creek Watershed and Wetlands and Aquatic Life classes continue to be available for students and youth groups in addition to our wetland field trips.
If you know of a class or group that would be interested in any of our educational opportunities, please feel free to contact sofia@ballona.org or fill out this form.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
The Ballona Wetlands Land Trust Team
