Dear CCCC Members and Friends:

I asked Dr. Temptaous Mckoy, assistant professor of English at Bowie State University, to assemble a team of scholars and teachers of technical and professional communication to address the ideological, scholarly, and instructional gulf that exists between Black technical and professional communication practices and the field of technical and professional communication (TPC), which still cultivates willful ignorance about the ways that Black peoples' communication practices always already influence and buttress technical and professional communication.

Dr. Mckoy and her team have come through. They have penned an important CCCC position statement on Black technical and professional communication. Dr. Mckoy joins me in writing this note to you. We urge you to read, sit with, and adopt the principles of this position statement.
