PDF's Donor and Community Advised Funds
PDF is excited to share that our Donor Advised Fund (DAF) program disbursed close to $800,000 in grants in the last fiscal year to social justice projects and organizations from across the United States and in regions around the world.

Mark Claude of the Freedom Archives said, "We have been a beneficiary of DAF grants from PDF for many years. Funding for radical media work is hard to access since most media funding comes predominantly from large mammoth organizations. There have been numerous times where PDF's funding has made a huge difference."

Another grant recipient, the National Network of Abortion Funds said, "We are deeply appreciative of PDF's general operating grants and their flexibility of use, as every piece of the work our network does is intertwined and works together in complex ways to further our vision."

You can empower community-based change by transforming your cash, stocks, bonds and/or mutual funds into a Donor Advised Fund at PDF that can then provide critical support to social justice organizations. UNMASKING FIDELITY: A Call to Action
Fidelity Charitable is the largest Donor Advised Fund manager in the country.

Yet Fidelity Charitable has been under growing scrutiny through the Unmasking Fidelity Campaign, which was started two years ago by Resource Generation Boston, Community Labor United, Muslim Justice League, Asian American Resource Workshop and Political Research Associates. 
Since then, dozens of organizations have joined the coalition, including Action Center on Race & Economy, who are committed to challenging Fidelity’s role in approving and funneling millions of dollars through Donor Advised Funds to white supremacist, anti-Muslim, anti-Black, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-immigrant organizations.

As Saqib Bhatti writes, "Fidelity Charitable has the legal discretion and the moral responsibility to choose which organizations to give money to based on their values. Fidelity chooses to allow its donor-advised funds to be used to fund white supremacy and fascism."

PDF's Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund
The Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund (PVCAF) at PDF makes grants to organizations working for social justice in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties. The PVCAF supports community groups led by people in the Pioneer Valley with lived experience of the oppressions they are fighting, with a focus on organizations led by and for people of color and other marginalized communities.

Local organizers, youth leaders, students and donor activists serve on the PVCAF committee, a participatory and community-driven grantmaking body in which members review applications, conduct interviews and make funding recommendations.
This year's PVCAF grant partners are fighting for housing, racial, immigrant, and food justice and all focus on community organizing to improve our communities here in the Pioneer Valley.

One member with Springfield No One Leaves said recently, “Massachusetts was facing a housing crisis before the global pandemic, especially in Western Massachusetts where we never fully recovered from the 2008 crisis. PDF funding helped support our Springfield Tenant Organizing Project and the Movement Leaders Academy, which helps develop new leaders within the organization."
