Taking the Ice at Bridgestone Arena
Our fundraisers from Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer Nashville 2021 were honored to perform in the Prevagen Skating Spectacular at the conclusion of US Figure Skating Championships! Choreographed by Paula Trujillo and accompanied for the weekend by our CARES Coordinators, Brielle Francis and Kim Volante, these skaters-turned-philanthropists shared the ice with all the 2022 National Champions and the newly announced 2022 Olympic Team! CARES is proud to partner with US Figure Skating to present once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like this and use the sport we all love to change the future of cancer care everywhere.

Skating into Detroit for the 5th Year
On February 3, 2022, CARES will skate back into downtown Detroit, Michigan for our 5th Annual Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Detroit fundraiser at the rink in Campus Martius Park, starting at 5:30pm.

The proceeds from this event will support the continuing work of the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, as well as our healthcare partners at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Karmanos Cancer Institute is the largest provider of cancer care and cancer research in the state of Michigan, and we are proud to continue funding the second year of an epithelial ovarian cancer immunotherapy study through Karmanos.

What Does 1984 Mean to You?
What were you doing in 1984? While many of us were listening to Prince and watching The Karate Kid, Scott Hamilton won an Olympic Gold Medal. Winning the Olympics led to Scott embarking on a herculean journey to honor his mother who died of cancer.

We can't all win a gold medal, but we can all honor someone we love and help transform the future of cancer by donating $19.84 a month to help fund innovative cancer research that is dedicated to sparing the patient the harm of traditional treatments.
