KNEWSLETTER - Vol. 39
Greetings!
We all seem to be getting the hang of social distancing and face masks as we continue to adjust to the "new normal." We hope you are all staying safe. Our hearts are with any of you who have been affected directly and indirectly by this virus.

Here's something to keep you busy - send us a photo or video of how you're dealing with the shelter in place. Sailing? Fishing? Boat projects? Be sure to check out a really entertaining video of Paul's tour around the yard posted below.

Until we see you again, stay healthy, safe and sane!

FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE...
On Sunday, May 3rd, Paul participated in a Virtual Boat Show hosted by Atomic Tuna Yachts. It was an honor to have been a part of this innovative experience. Kudos to Wayne Goodman for the all the hard work and dedication that went into producing such an impressive show.

We created this video of Paul giving us a tour of the Kyard. It's quite an enjoyable glimpse into the goings on at KKMI. Be sure to stay tuned to the end to watch the outtakes.
Enjoy a tour of our Point Richmond Kyard with Paul Kaplan
AND THE WINNER IS...
CAPTAIN RON by a landslide with 53% of the vote! Wind was the runner up with 21%, Jaws scored 15%, Titanic 8% and Perfect Storm coming up with a mere 3%.

Here are some of your additional comments:
  • I really liked Deep Water. It was very well done and it showed the obsession and the madness of the human condition.
  • Maiden Voyage
  • Wind...it's the only true sailing movie.
  • Captain Ron because it brings across sailing as a fun adventure for the family and taking on a sport that is rewarding and a feel good way of life.
  • Morning light. It's a true story.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean. The plot, the dialog, the scenery.
  • Captain Ron because it's so quotable.

It is always nice to have the USCG back at the Sausalito yard.
Shout out to Latitude 38 for keeping the sailing community not only in touch, but also connected. Thanks!
Photo sent in by Martin Koffel - taking some time to give his beautiful Bird Boat - Kookabura some fresh varnish.
This month's "Between the Sheets" submissions...
Because this editor is sheltering in place, I had to search the interwebs for some fun ones... too much!
