Town of Orangetown Update
Dear Residents -

As week 6 of social distancing comes to a close, there finally appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel. While we still have a ways to go, we have come a long way.

Effective today, more parks will reopen for jogging, walking and hiking. For a complete list, please click here.

On Tuesday, April 28th, Governor Cuomo laid out a 12 step plan to re-open New York State based on regions. Each region must meet the recommendations of the CDC. To learn more about the 12 steps, please click here.

Plans are being worked on to get our local businesses back up and running - SAFELY, so please bear with us if it takes longer than you would like. We are working behind the scenes to get life back to as close to normal as it was on Friday, March 6th, 2020.
Cloth Masks for Everyone
Supervisor Kenny was able to secure more cloth masks from the State of New York. They are due to arrive the week of May 3rd.

As long as the weather is dry, we are looking to do another "Drive By" at Veteran's Memorial Park on Thursday, May 7th from 2pm till 5pm. Orangetown Police Department will be managing traffic and we will be asking for proof of residency.

This distribution will be on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have any further questions, please email the Supervisor.

Town of Orangetown
Virtual 5K
The Town, along with Supervisor Kenny, is hosting their first ever Virtual 5K.

The 5K will be held from Friday, May 1st through Sunday, May 17th and 100% of the net proceeds will benefit local food pantries in Orangetown.

What's unique about this event is that participants can run (or walk) the 5K on any route and time of their choice within the specified time frame.

Run/walk with friends if you wish - just observe stipulated social distancing rules.

For those who don't want to participate in the event, there is an opportunity to be a part of this event otherwise. For a
$ 100 donation, you'll get your name (personal or business) printed on the back of the t-shirt which will be supplied to all participants.

Pictured with Supervisor Kenny is the President of the Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), John McGowan, with his organization's donation of $ 500.00.

Please help out if you can - your community will thank you for it.

Pet of the Week

Buddy Basler has been a wonderful part of our family for the past 7 years! He was a Hurricane Sandy rescue and is such a sweet boy. He loves long walks, lots of snuggles, and chasing rabbits and squirrels in our yard! Since quarantine began he has become our kids’ Study Buddy, often curling up on their laps as they do their school work.
