I have new webinars, new tutorials and news this week. Let's start with the news.
Two weeks ago, I reported a significant bug in macOS 10.15.4 which prevented large files from successfully copying to external storage. The problem is with the macOS kernel and was first isolated by SoftRAID. (Here's their blog about it.) I'm pleased to report that this bug is fixed in the 10.15.5 update which is currently in beta. If you have not yet upgraded to 10.15.4, please don't. If you have, please update to 10.15.5 as soon as Apple releases the update.
Imagine Products is presenting a live event this Wednesday, May 6, at 3 PM EDT on the workflow that
Art Aldrich and OTEK-TV have developed over 15 years to manage complex multi-camera cine-style corporate events. The event is free.
The
Broadcast Network - UK continues to list over 150 live
industry webinars that are either available on demand or are coming up soon. It is a free to use community calendar showing what's going on each day. Just click the day to display links and more information.
Adobe rolled out two new programs last week. The first is a new
worldwide certification program for video and audio system integrators. Additionally, Adobe has put together a list of resources from their partners including best practice guides, blog posts, webinars for on-demand viewing, and special offers to help teams
maintain continuity while working remotely.
Turning to my news, I have four new articles this week: two on the new Productions feature in Premiere, an in-depth product review of new archiving software from TOLIS Group, and a video tutorial on how to move projects from Premiere to Audition for audio mixing, then bring the final audio mix back to Premiere for output.
Thinking of Productions, Adobe has done a really nice job with this feature. My lead story is an overview what this is and how even solo editors can benefit.
