Advocacy in Action Module: Advocacy in Action provides all delegates with an overview of advocacy tools like legislative support letters, testimony tips, op-ed guidance. These tools will be used both in Y&G and can help them throughout life. This module is scheduled for delegation meetings during the weeks of Jan 11 and Jan 18. This content will help Legislators, Advocates, and Communications prepare for conference work and will equip all of your delegates with practical, real-life advocacy tools.
UPCOMING WEBINARS:
Drafting Legislation Webinar - January 19: If your delegation hasn’t yet covered the Drafting Legislation Module (available on the Curriculum Airtable) or you want a refresher on how to write bill language, check out our January 19, 6-7pm webinar where we’ll cover bill drafting. Open to all delegates and advisors. This is a great opportunity to ensure Firms are on the right track to meeting their January 24 draft bill deadline with a correctly written bill.
January 26 Webinar: Speak Your Truth with 916 Ink: Find your confidence in public speaking and writing at "SPEAK YOUR TRUTH," a webinar presented by 916 Ink. Delegates can embrace creativity and their unique voice when writing or speaking about the issues most important to them. This will teach skills that will help you not just with upcoming campaign, bill presentations, or lobbying efforts, but also with college applications, job interviews, cover letters, and more! Presented by 916 Ink, a Sacramento arts-based creative writing nonprofit that empowers youth through creative writing.
