Last Call to Support DPS Foundation |
|
This Sunday, September 13, is the final day of our campaign for the Durham Public Schools Foundation. Our goal is to raise $25,000, which will provide 500 disadvantaged Durham Public Schools (DPS) children with hotspots and wi-fi service for remote learning through January of 2021. DPS Foundation (DPSF) is a charitable 501(c)(3) launched in September of 2018 whose objectives include an “Accelerating Digital Equity” campaign. Virtual Vision Trips w/ Our Global Partners This Sunday |

The Global Outreach Team invites you to join virtual vision trips around the world! Our first stop is in Asia. Join other CGS members for an hour of conversation on Zoom with one of our global partners, Dan, to learn more about how God is working in Asia, and how you can care and pray for our global partners. The chat with Dan is this Sunday, September 13, from 8:30-9:30pm. Did you miss the RSVP? It's not too late to join! Email Bethany Porter for the Zoom invite or with questions.

Our teachers are facing a huge challenge this Fall! Join a small group of CGS folk in supporting one of them! Anyone can participate. We encourage Community Groups to form a team together. If you're still interested in being part of a Teacher Care Team, please click here to sign up. You will find one place to sign up if you are a teacher desiring support. A second place is for anyone who desires to join a team. You can request to support a particular teacher or we will place you on a team. If your Community Group wants to pray for a teacher, have one person sign up for the team.

Monday Night Women's Bible Study on Zoom |

Monday Night Zoom Bible Study is starting again, and all CGS women are invited to join. Robin Kiefer will be leading us through the book of Jeremiah. We will meet via Zoom at 8:00pm on Monday nights, beginning September 14. Please click here to access the Zoom meeting. The passcode is 934243.

September Meal at the Durham Rescue Mission |

On September 20, CGS is responsible for providing lunch at the Durham Rescue Mission men’s campus. If you would like to help with this month’s meal, please sign up here. Drop off dishes in the main kitchen between 9:30am-10:45am the morning of the meal. Thank you for your support of this ministry.

Read Through the Bible Roundtable Discussion |

The Well: Bi-Weekly Zoom Gathering for Young Moms |

Our bi-weekly Zoom group for parents of nursery and pre-school children is restarting next week! All moms of littles are invited to join Diane Jacob & friends on Zoom on Tuesday, September 15, at 8:00pm. We will continue to meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8:00pm. The Zoom link will be sent out in our weekly kids/nursery emails. If you are not receiving these parent emails, please email Abigail Grebe and she will add you to the list.

Global Outreach Spotlight |

Meet: Dana Saleeby
Dana is the former National Director for Cru Global Missions for the MidSouth Region, but is working with the JESUS Film Project now.
Pray: Pray that Dana would use her time wisely as she collaborates on projects with other leaders in The Jesus Film Project. Pray for the wise and creative use of digital media tools in ministry around the world, as ministry that is not limited by physical distance goes on, since travel is restricted for now. Pray that God would raise all of her support (trusting Him for $900/month of new support).

Our Friday morning Men's Bible Study is meeting virtually via Zoom for the foreseeable future at 7:00am each Friday. If anyone who is not currently involved with the Men's Bible Study wants more information, they can email Joseph Scanlon or Norman Acker.
